My husband & I stayed here for 10 days at the end of April 2014.
The weather was great for most of our stay & we got out and about a lot and did a fair bit of walking and sightseeing.
Food was excellent - good choice and excellent salads and sweets.
Bar prices at the hotel were really cheap and the Explorers bar is lovely & well worth a visit.
good central location.

A couple of negatives: very noisy hotel, we were quite sleep deprived during our stay which made getting up before 9am the next day very difficult (Western Saloon Bar below the hotel plays loud live music until gone 2am every night)
Pool area very crowded, but both pools were nice to swim in.
Benidorm in general we found too crowded & busy for our liking - we'd stay at the Ambassador again but will try the quieter side of Benidorm too for a change. The prom was lovely but difficult to walk along - from 8am - 10pm at night it was crowded & you had to keep weaving in & out of people.

All in all a good hotel - I'd recommend a weeks stay here but probably no more due to the lack of sleep. The food really was superb & both hotel bars were lovely which for us more than compensated for lack of sleep. I think the hotel has all the facilities for a 4 star, so I would class it as a very good 3 star.
Thinking of booking a week in October already!

just arrived back from this good hotel. check in was quick and the reception staff were polite and friendly. i got to my room and found out that I was facing the rosamar hotel on the main road. the traffic noise did not bother me but the noise in the early hours from the drunken people coming home always woke me,
the hotels restaurant was always busy and the quality of food was always good. the staff was always busy and it didn't take them long to clean your dirty plates away. the drinks in the hotel was reasonably priced considering most hotels charge you a lot. the entertainment in the hotel was not too bad but i didn't see some of it. i will go back to this hotel at some point and hopefully get a room where i can sleep all night

Room Tip: ask for an high floor

Very good hotel with helpful staff. Good choice of food on menu. Maid service daily. Great location for shops, bars and shows. Would certainly stay at the Ambassador Playa 11 again. Booking for next year.

i would recommend this hotel for the prime location, it was clean and comfortable, food good, they cater for the english well, mr whippy ice cream machine was great ha ha, if you want a bit more of a peaceful nights sleep choose rooms at the back of the hotel as the front can be very noisy until the early hours but on a plus side very entertaining to watch all the goings on, and also if your afraid of heights recommend a lower level room as we were on the sixth floor and felt really nervous sitting out on the balcony as its very high up, the only negatives were when arriving to check in we were told our rooms wouldn't be ready til 3pm and we arrived at about 11am so all we wanted was to go to our rooms to refresh so that was a pain hanging around in our travelling attire feeling hot and sweaty, ive never had to wait at any other hotel abroad but overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again

Room Tip: front rooms can be noisy if you want a restful nights sleep choose back of hotel but note they don't get much sun in the day

Just returned from 11 nights from this hotel. Had a poolside room on the 6th floor .The noise every night from midnight till 6am was horrendous .This hotel is situated on the main drag for bars & clubs with a 24 hour bar right opposite!! Hotel reception would not change room to quieter side.
Also the dinning room is bun fight. It caters for 2 hotels( Ambassador 1&11) Every mealtime it was chocker Queues all the time for food & table.
Would not recommend this hotel for a relaxing stress-free holiday.

Room Tip: Choose a non poolside room as noise from poolside room is horrendous although if you want sunshine all day on balcony, poolside rooms are best.
