I have just returned from the castilla and must say our stay was fantastic. The reception staff were brilliant from the moment we arrived up until we left. We asked about buses and the staff rang up and got us times and prices and taxis to Benidorm bus station. I requested a pool view with a double bed and informed them it was my fiancées birthday. As a lovely gesture we were given champagne on the said day along with the desired room for our stay. The food was lovely and of high quality, the Mexican night was to die for with loads of different options. I can't say a big enough thank you and will definitely be staying again.

It really depends what your after. We were 6 40 year olds looking for a decent hotel. We had 2 3 bed rooms (609 & 1009). We weren't interested in a pool view, just somewhere to sleep and shower. We had half board but didn't try the food, we were out partying! The hotel was very quiet, we didn't bump into a single person on our floor. The pool area was reasonably busy but there were enough sun beds to go around. Pool is big enough, unless you're Mark Spitz all you want is somewhere to cool off. Room were very clean, nice balcony. Let's be honest you don't spend much time in your room anyhow. The only negative is the room key / safe failed once each and we had to get them redone at reception. There was 1 receptionist who was miserable, the rest of the staff were very good. There is a safe room for leaving bags and we had use of a spare room to shower before we left. I've seen complaints from people moaning about the distance into the nightlife. It's a 10 minute walk and is far enough away to be in a quiet area. You need to decide which is best. I'd definately stay here again and look forward to returning next year.

just returned from castilla i can say i have stayed in much better 3 star hotels than this the rooms was basic , i requested a pool view and was tol there was no 3 bed rooms looking onto pool but ours was a twin room with a extra bed put in it was number 809 . the reception staff are lovely the hotel is spotless . now the food not good at all for a 4 star hotel asked 3 nights running to fill the chips up as they were cold they did so but not much warmer they dont seem to fill up often at all and things are so lukewarm it is very repetitive as well seafood pizza was on 3 nights out of 5 we was there we will not be returning to this hotel as ive said i have stayed in much better 3 star hotels.

Room Tip: pick a pool view sun all day but you are not garenteed to get one

Dear guest,

Firstly, we would like to thank you for spending your time writing your comments on TripAdvisor.

We are sorry to hear you were disappointed with your stay. We know food is an important part of guest holidays and as such we do offer an international buffet which is carefully chosen by our catering department where we try to please all tastes, which sometimes isn’t always possible.

The temperature of the food is regulated by health and safety; we do keep the food warming but if we had to keep the food piping hot it would mean the food would still be cooking, which in effect would then leave the food either dry or over cooked.

Regarding the pizzas, we do offer a different kind of pizza depending on the theme nights ham and cheese, bacon, seafood etc.

We are sorry to see that all the efforts that we did to make your stay comfortable did not meet with your expectations.

Kind regards,

The overall quality in the hotrl has slipped hugely since our last visit 2 years ago. The food was not as good with the noise levels at nightime and during some days very high. We had to move room but it still persisted, this seemed to be overlooked and acceptrd as normal by some staff. Reception staff were very nice and helpful but others including a woman in the bar were not. We will not be returning to the Castilla again in the near future as standards have slipped which is a pity as we always found it very good in the past.

A nice hotel which is clean and rooms are adequet but nothing special .It is very quiet and only has a small pool. It is a good 10 minuite walk to the entertainment area of Benidorm and if you have walking difficulties I would not consider staying here.
The sister hotel The Calypso is much better and is just 3 * so in my opinion why pay more for The Castilla when The Calypso is much better and serves better food as well..

Room Tip: Pool View is Best

This is our second stay here and what can i say thats not already been said!! The food here is A1. Fantastic food choice not covered in unknown sauces like some Spanish hotels do, all id say is try for yourself you WONT be disappointed. Staff excellent as usual, cleaning staff work very hard and the hotel is spotlessly clean. Ive been to a couple of the other Servigroup hotels which were also good but for me this one is the winner...cant wait to return. Benidorm itself was very busy with lots going on. Beach was very clean as ususal too.

Room Tip: Rooms facing swimming pool get sun most of the day.
