Having visited this hotel this week, we found the location excellent, but thank goodness for the other Magic Hotels. The photos lead you to believe it has an outdoor pool, this has not, it had an inside pool and jacuzzi which was nice if you wanted to swim inside, it has a rooftop garden, but all the other hotels had a bar but this does not operate in October, you have to go down 7 floors. The food was very good, something for everyone, the same food was served in all the other hotels. The shuttle bus was regular and we used this every day to visit the other magic hotels. The hotel caters mainly for the spanish, all entertainment was in spanish and if you like Ballroom Dancing and over 60 you have cracked it. It has two English Barstaff Carol and Duncan, they are worth their weight in Gold. Perhaps they should take a hand in running the entertainment or even the hotel. The rooms have no balconies but to compensate they are very large and spacious lovely and clean and all towels/toiletries are replaced daily. Overall if you are looking for a relaxing holiday and dont mind the Spanish pensioners then this is the holiday for you, but you can of course use this as a base and use the other hotels.

This hotel is Spanish and for the Spanish if you want the typical British, booze, fish & chips, it's not for you, go to Blackpool or Brighton or one of the many hotels that are dedicated to the foreign visitor.
This hotel is Spanish and in my opinion should remain so.
If you like a Spanish holiday amongst the Spanish, trying to communicate and associate with them, then this is for you.
A fantastic location, staff, whom if you treat with respect will reciprocate, treat them like holiday lackeys and you'll suffer,
The food is superb, as for those whom complain about lack of English style food, should, I suggest, open their eyes.
Every day at breakfast you can get, Bacon, eggs (Sunny-side up) fried bread, tomatoes, baked beans, sliced bread (Brown and White)
At lunch and dinner a choice of four/five meats, fish in different styles every day.
A multitude of sweets and deserts also a full Spanish menu including Tapas, for the more discerning.
Room service and all amenities are as described in the advertising.
ALL IN ALL. UNBEATABLE FOR A "SPANISH" HOTEL.
Thanks to all staff for a "MAGIC" holiday.
Just one downside. You'll never stop the Spanish from shouting, the loudest one is the one who's listened to.
If you hadn't realized. I AM A LOVER OF ANY THING SPANGLISH.

I have just recently returned from hotel magic fenicia after a hen weekend of 16 people age ranging from 23-70. I expected the worst after reading some of the reviews on the site, however, was surprised as I thought for what we paid it was good value. We went all inclusive and found that there was something for everyone to eat at meal times, although some nights were better than others.

Furthermore, the staff were pleasant, spoke good English and there were even two English barmen. The rooms were very basic, but clean and the air con kept us cool. 90% of the guests were Spanish and yes the hotel was catered more so to them, however, we
were in Spain.

We found that we could easily get drinks and often sat in the bar area. The pool area was located on the roof and was tiny, but the free shuttle buses between the magic hotels allowed to visit the much much larger pool at hotel Monica and still allowed us to eat and drink there all inclusively. Another plus to the location of the hotel was that it was two minutes from the beach and the beach was lovely and cheap for a sun lounger and umbrella (6 euros). Also we were located slap bang in the middle of the old town and enjoyed the night life there. It was only a twenty minute walk into the new town or 8 euros in a taxi. However, if you wanted to start off in the new town then you could eat at the villa de benidorm hotel which was in the centre.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you are in a large group and want a cheap deal, as there is not much in the way of entertainment for English families. We enjoyed our time here and found it fine for the time we spent there.

We live in Spain and booked this hotel purposely after reading reviews. I think that the English people who have written reports are rude and blinkered about the other people who stay in this hotel. People treat people as they deserve to be treated and our children ( 12 and 6) were polite and chatted to the people in Spanish as did ourselves and we received nothing but politeness and kindness in return, in fact the Spanish loved our children. Treat people how you wish to be treated, if you are prats and ignorant and do not attempt to speak any language other than English, you will be treated as prats (deservedly) . The accomodation, staff and food in this hotel were fabulous......buenisimo.We would stop there again.

The good bit - staff were pleasant but service was slow! Now for the bad - the splash pool on the roof is for kids age 3 to 12 only. The indoor pool was a haven for mosquitos. The entertainment staff where lovely and tried their best however it was all aimed at the Spanish pensioners who made up about 95% of the guests. Getting drinks from the bar was like waiting for paint to dry - one member of staff serving alternate customers at two bars. Food was horrendous, it was often difficult to tell what you were eating and the snacks where whatever was leftover from lunch time - some of the chips were as old as the guests! The tables were left in a terrible mess and you had to clear them and set them yourself. The Spanish pensioners were ignorant, rude, bad mannered, greedy and everywhere! The bedroom was clean but basic - the aircon was very noisy -like having a bus running in the corner of the room. The TV was entirely in spanish. Our young son had an accident in bed and although we stripped the bed, the cleaners did not take the dirty sheets away or leave us clean sheets - and I would have thought they'd be used to wet beds given the number of elderly guests! The only saving grace was that we could use the other hotels in the Magic chain, so we did - every day and thank God we were only booked for one week!

We have stayed with the Magic group in Benidorm since 2004 and initially thought they were fantastic - but now the standards have fallen in maintenance of buildings, cleanliness, food and the staff. We stayed at the Fenicia for 6 nights at the end of August - the room we were given on the first night faced the back, away from the sea and had a balcony. That was no problem - but the balcony doors didn't lock properly and it was possible to get access to the balcony from a narrow walkway which ran the length of the building. Added to that, the safe in the wardrobe was neither bolted in nor fastened down in any way and my husband was able to pick it up in one hand. We went straight back to reception and asked to be put in another room but were told that we would have to see someone after dinner (it was 9 30pm when we checked in). We saw someone different after dinner and were told we would have to see someone in the morning. We didn't unpack - just locked our valuables in the cases and strapped them together to the radiator and went out for a drink. The room also had an unpleasant smell. In the morning we went back to reception - and were told to see someone else after breakfast which we did - a\nd after 10am we were given a much more secure room, facing the front, without a balcony.
The hotel was very busy and all the entertainment was held down beside the indoor swimming pool - it got very hot there and claustrophobic. Being school holiday time the entertainment was geared round kids and there was no dancing for adults, which is what we go for
The food was pretty mediocre - it used to be excellent but they seem to be penny pinching and using cheaper ingredients and it was quite repetetive
The drinks in the bar were pretty dear - 2 small glasses of red wine were 5.60 euros AND it was chilled local wine which could be bought from the local supermarket for less than 1 euro a bottle. Actually, in all fairness, drinks were pretty expensive all over - but that was the dearest we paid for red wine
The reception staff were not very helpful this time - any time we asked about anything we were given wrong information or told to ask someone else later on. (Our second week in Benidorm (we went to visit friends in Valencia over the weekend so came back to a different hotel) we stayed at a small 2 star hotel on the front - and the staff there were the opposite, they went out of their way to help.)
This was the first time in all our visits that we have actually seen the kiddies splash area on the roof open
Bar staff and dining room staff were pleasant and helpful
We still managed to have a good holiday but have to admit that awe will not be back to any of the Magic group hotels - and certainly not the Fenicia
