Lovely hotel, great position, very clean, friendly staff, nice rooms. The restaurant really is lovely but unfortunately the food is terrible. Breakfast is ok, buffet style so my advice is definitely stay in this really nice contemporary hotel but on a room only or B & B basis.

We stayed for a weekend in May, we arrived late and were greeted by a pleasant member of staff who quickly sorted out our rooms within 5 mins and we were checked in! Rooms were very pleasant and adequate for our needs but you only use them to sleep in, that's what they are for! Breakfast consisted of a variety for all needs, including cereal, fruit, coffee, fry up, something for everyone! although the sausages were not sausages, not sure what they were! Rooftop pool was very clean and obviously quiet at this time of year but nevertheless was well maintained albeit v small if the hotel was full. We also made use of the Jacuzzi which was excellent. The hotel is ideally situated one block away from beach and 5 mins from the nightlife and cabaret shows etc. One word of warning be careful out at night as there is a lot of Romanians around with organised gangs who will quickly pickpocket you at night and will have your items before you know it. Main meal on evening was also excellent although you don't have much choice but there is a 3 course meal. Starter which is buffet style and a choice of 2 for your main and a choice of 5 for your dessert, well cooked and quickly brought out.. now waiting around for ages. Staff were excellent and will make sure your stay is very pleasant and will help out as much as possible. This hotel is not for kids it caters mainly for couples, or parties of men or women. All in all I would definitely come back to this hotel and stay again. Thankyou for a pleasant stay!

Room Tip: If your not bothered about heights choose a room closer to 5th and 6th floor as that's where res...

First impressions were smells nice and very clean! Vanessa on reception booked us in and was very helpful. Very comfy beds and very clean rooms. Loved the rooftop 'plunge' pool but needed a few more loungers and ordering drinks was slow and very expensive as we were charged the room service rate. The hotel is in a great location and easy to get to the lively part and the more sedate town. Our only complaint was the bar staff when we decided to stay in one evening, my daughter ordered both in English and Spanish but the staff still failed to get it right and then blamed us.
We stayed half board and breakfast was a buffet style with lots of fresh foods. Dinner was buffet style for starters, slightly disappointing. Dinner was a choice of 2 dishes and my sister being a vegetarian had fish containing several bones every evening to the point where she was fed up with it. The meat dishes however were very nice.
I would recommend the Agir and will definitely visit again

My friend and I have just returned from our annual short break to Benidorm. Having stayed at the Agir in 2013 and rating it then as excellent we re-booked for 2014. We thought that we had found the ideal hotel and looked forward to returning to the Agir for many years to come, but alas it is not to be.

The standard and cleanliness of the hotel and comfort of room still remain excellent and cannot be faulted, it is such a shame that this standard is not reflected in the standard and quality of the food.

Breakfast is ok, a reasonable choice but not the selection available in 2013. Beware - don`t have the fruit juice as its neat squash!!! Quite a shock if you take a large gulp. If you are staying half board as we were, don`t. The salad bar for starters was really good but the main meal, oh dear, where does one start. All the main meals we had were bland, tasteless with a complete disregard to presentation. Our meal on our first night was very dry and hard chicken - I had fish which was grey and raw in the middle. Veg served was 2 halves of potatoes and frozen diced cold carrots. This was the norm every night apart from once we had an undescriable green slime- spinach maybe? The standard of food did not improve for the other 2 nights of our stay. We asked for seasonal fruit - it came 2 pieces of fruit on each plate consisting of a pear which was going off and a black over-ripe banana - a soft apple and an orange. The same mouldy pear appeared next day at breakfast!!! We had yoghurt the following 2 nights - played safe. My friend did try the apple pudding, there again no presentation, just a square in the middle of a plate - completely unappertising and tastless.

The only staff we found to be accomodating and friendly were the room maids who did an excellent job.

We had booked and paid for 4 nights half board but were only staying 3. This was our choice as we wished to keep our room until our pick up at 5.45pm. As we were not having a dinner on the Friday night or a Saturday breakfast, we asked if it was possible for the kitchen to make us a sandwich for our journey. We made this request at reception and the attitude was appauling. We were told in no uncertain terms that it was not possible, we were half board - end of story. We did try again to explain and ask why it wasn`t possible but to no avail.

This year we paid in excess of £100 more for our stay, the same length of time 4 nights which we had in 2013 and expected better than what we received. The Agir appears to be cutting back on food and toiletries in room - 1 shower gel for 2 people? Our general overall view is that the management of the Agir are becoming greedy and complacent. We shall definitely not be returning in 2015!!!

Dear guest,
First, we apologize to answer late about your comments. However, really appreciate your comments about the Hotel Agir. Since your last stay with us we changed a lot of thinks about the food. The breakfast have a new coffee machine and french bakery. About the menus? This is now a new system... We still without buffet service just because buffet is not quality. You can choose now between 4 first courses after an homemade aperitif. Then 4 second courses (One to choose, and of course possibility to repeat!). To finish you have a choice between 6 desserts, every plate is homemade and like always... If you don t like anything you can speak and ask to your personal waiter!
Really hope to see you again in the Agir and don t stay with an misunderstanding...

Kind regards,

this is one of the best positioned and quality hotels we have stayed in. set half way along levante beach just one street back from the front it is literally 50mts and 2 minutes from the beach. turn left from the hotel and you head to the night life, turn right and you head for the old town. we were checked in very quickly and efficiently by very helpful staff. there are four floors of rooms serviced by both an indoor and an outdoor lift. our room on the 4th floors was very spacious, typical European with tiled floors and fairly plain walls. the double bed was very comfortable with crisp white sheets changed every 2 days. the dining area on the 5th floor has a view towards the beach with an expansive continental and somewhat restricted cooked breakfast. on the 6th floor is a gym, sauna, swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sunbeds, all free to residents. the hotel is spotlessly clean and is an excellent base for a relaxing break. as an added bonus the hotel has a policy of not accepting same sex parties so there is no rowdiness .

Room Tip: quieter rooms seem to be on the lower floors
