We returned a few days ago and had a fantastic week.
We travelled as a group of 14, with ages from 4mths to 83 years- and no one had any complaints.
We travelled with Thomson/First Choice so we were allocated the newly refurbished rooms - which were lovely, clean and spacious. The food was the best I've had, so much choice, always hot and a varied menu, even a vegatarians counter! We didn't join in with the daytime entertainment but there looked plenty going on to keep you busy.
You can hire room safes, fridges and the remote control for the TV is 12 euros deposit from reception.
The only negatives I can mention is the indoor pool was freezing and the que to check in when we arrived was awful- took nearly an hour as we waiting to check in, then again to have our photos taken for the pass cards, then again whilst they were printed.
I would definately recommend this hotel. I work in travel and have stayed in some great hotels, and I have to say this is one of the best all round hotels i've stayed in!

By far the best hotel so far we have stayed in, in our many trips to Benidorm. Facilities, food, rooms, staff and hotel in general faultless -
To be picky the only slight issue was uncomfortable beds - but didn't spoil the stay and would certainly return again without hesitation.

This was my second visit to the hotel, my first being some seven years ago. As mentioned in a former review, the hotel is now mainly occupied by Thomson / First Choice guests, thus giving the company an overall monopoly. To this end there are several disadvantages, all of which are too apparent. For our week long stay, we were allocated room 301 situated on the third floor overlooking the pool area. The room itself was delightfully decorated with ultra modern furnishings, following a recent refurbishment. All public area's were cleaned to an exceptionally high standard, and most tastefully decorated throughout.
The dining area left a lot to be desired, with a two tier system in operation....
a) With the Club Class being sectioned off with 2.0m high rigid panels, (reminiscent of . pig pen) !.
b) The main seating area for other guests ... (The inferior clients)...
My personal opinion is that such an obvious discriminatory system is most distasteful, and certainly not consistent with standards expected of a four star hotel !...
The food whilst plentiful and of a reasonable presentation, was frequently repeated on a daily basis and with a limited variation !.
The entertainment programme was rather good, with a varied two venue nightly system in operation.
The negatives of my holiday were; ...
a) Flight : Very strict baggage system in operation... Poor seating configuration, with minimal
leg room. ... No decaffeinated drinks on board ... Totally disorganised boarding
system in operation.
b) Hotel : Chaotic Check in arrangements, it took us two hours to check in !!... No luggage
porters whatsoever..You take it, You carry it !!.....

Conclusions :
Should I travel package class again, It definitely wont be a Thompson one !.
I am unsure as to whether or not I would return to the Flamingo Oasis again,
due to the significant deterioration in Administration and Dining facilities.

Room Tip: If at all possible try and reserve a room on floors 1-16, as such have all been refurbished.

Thomson reps were always at their desk and readily available and very friendly and helpful. We had one or two small issues which were dealt with efficiently and quickly by the hotel staff. The staff at this hotel are exceptional. Always friendly and helpful. A credit to the hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed another stay at the Flamingo and will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Try and book a Suite or a Club Room well worth the extra cost

Just returned from our ninth stay.in Flamingo Oasis. Unfortunately this is the first time I have written a negative review about it.Previously we have stayed in Clubrooms and on various floors, but now Thomson have taken over most of the floors, we were put into two rooms on the 17th floor which have not been refurbished. We fly from Glasgow, which means we already pay over the odds , so I got a deal from Travel Republic and Easyjet which meant I saved over two hundred pounds on the price Thomson were asking. Because of this we got rooms, which although were clean and acceptable, had the old decor and furnishings, including the massive tv on the counter. Treated a bit like the poor relations!
Because we have been so many times, we noticed a big dip in the quality of the food and drink. Vodka and Tia Maria equivalent were horrible. We always drank the local spirits without any problem, but couldn't stand them this time. Had to stick to beer and wine.
The restaurant, which will seem excellent to a first timer, has also taken a dip. We were there for eight nights and had several repeats. Also on Italian theme night , my daughter made up a plate of vegetable lasagne and salad .She was nearly ill though when she discovered chunks of fish through the lasagne, (she has a fish allergy). She approached the woman behind the counter, who couldn't see a problem, but who brought a male chef out from the back. My daughter is in her 20s and a fluent spanish speaker and told him her complaint. He decided the problem occured because the food had been labelled wrongly and promptly swapped the veg lasagne card with the cannelloni!!!! It would seem you take pot luck.
No complaints at all about any of the staff who have all been there for many years.I noticed also that we no longer get bottled water, supposedly to protect the environment, yet when you queue at the bar for a glass of water, you receive it in a plastic tumbler. Very environmentally friendly! In the past I have recommended this hotel to many friends but I'm afraid not any more. In fact I can honestly say that we will not return, a statement I never thought I would make.
If any representative from the hotel decides to comment on this review, please be honest and admit that because of the recession you are using cheaper alternatives of food and spirits.

spent a week at this hotel from 17th November till 24th. The hotel is quite large and we were allocated a room on the 14th floor . The room was nicely decorated and clean . the hotel is very clean and modern with helpfull staff. Entertainment was first class enjoyed a few shows in the showbar. The entertainment team never stopped. Alcohol was ok lager bit hit and miss though spirits were fine. The food was terrible- really bad in 7 days eating i would honestly say the nicest meal i had was a cheese sarnie i made!!! If it wasnt for the food i wouldnt hesitate to return but sadly it sort of spoiled it . think school dinners but worse much worse :-(
