“fantastic hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2010

my husband and I have just returned from our holiday to the Levante Club Hotel, Benidorm.
This was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. We booked all inclusive and the food was excellent. Breakfast, Lunch and Evening Meal plus snacks in between each sitting. Hot cooked food at each of the six meals, including snacks 10.30pm - midnight. We had a room on the 16th floor - all rooms overlook the pool, the room was large and bright. The bathroom had a bath with shower over, seperate shower cubicle loo and bidet.
Rooms kept very clean although we were often the last to be cleaned at approx 2pm. We had booked the hotel because we thought it was a Thomson Gold Exclusive but this does not seem to be the case at the moment, dont know if it has lost its Gold standing. There were no small children but plenty of 18 - 30 age group. Also Spanish guest. The entertainment was not very good, bingo called in Spanish and English. We prefered to go out for a walk along the long promenade and the bus stops right outside the hotel, we used to ride down and walk back. The pool area is not large enough for a hotel of this size and as is usual all the sun beds were taken by the regulars by 8am, even though some of them were not used until the afternoon. There was also water polo and football in the pool each afternoon. Also its proximity to the next hotel was so close you could often hear their entertainment team over ours. If you are looking for excellent food and service this is the hotel for you, but if you are more interested in the pool area and entertainment I think you will be disappointed. Would I return to this hotel - YES

We are staying at the Levante Club Hotel in Benidorm. The Staff are brilliant but the food is nowhere near four star as stated. The choice is basic & cold at best & the Thomson rep was not really interested. I woudn´t recommend this hotel certainly not as a four star rating 2 stars at best

First let me thank you for taking the time to give your thoughts on our hotel. We try to cater for everyones tastes, which is difficult, especially being an all inclusive hotel and having food available all day. Thank you for commenting about our staff, they work very hard and appreciate all positive comments left.

The hotel service was great, with the most of the staff speaking english. All were friendly and happy to help. The room was spacious with two twin beds, huge balgony overlooking the pool and a large bathroom with seperate bath and shower. The maids were very good.
Hotel had shops and pubs/restraunts right outside the door and the beach was a 10minute walk down the road but there are plenty of taxis and buses to take you places.
The food and cleanliness were 5 out of 5. There was so much choice even for those who are slightly fussy! The only thing I could fault is the entertainment which is more for the older holiday maker. All in all I will go back to this hotel if I visit Benidorm, I thouroughly enjoyed my experience.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the levante club for 11 nights in july and had a fantastic time. the transfer from the airport to the hotel was about 45 mins to an hour, depending on when you get dropped off. the hotel was spotless and the dinning room staff and the bar staff were really good! one thing that people need to be aware of is people coming into the hotel to rob people. whilst we were checking in a couple behind us were target of this. a man came and put his jacket around her handbag and opened her bag to steal her money. luckily someone walking past spotted this and the man ran off. there was other incidents that happened , for example in the lift and people following people to their rooms, waiting for them to put bags down before they stole them. but however dont let this put you off the hotel! the reps should warn you of this in benidorm but just like anywere else you need to be on your guard!
pool was lovley, however when it comes to sunbeds unless u have gone and put towels down at 8am then you have no chance of getting a good sunbed any later. people deserve their towels chucked in the pool sometimes as towels are left there all day but beds arent even used. booked this hotel as a thomson gold and it being exclusive to thomson, however many spanish stayed here but wasnt a problem compared to the stag and hen dues that seemed to take over! .fridge and mini bar was ment to be included but had to pay per person per day. dissapointed about this. however hotel couldnt be cleaner, had a fab time and met some fabulous people!!! tony scott is a must see at stardust if you like a comedian and the timeless boys at malverns tavern, singing all the oldschool music to sing along to!
gutted to be home had a great holiday and would go back! just be wigulant and on guard at times. water polo is also a must great fun! wish they had a wrist band system in place instead of a card system as was a pain to have to keep going to get the cards.
stay at levante club, luxury compared to a lot of other hotels in benidorm!!!

Just back from Levante Club Hotel which we booked through Thomson.

The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from Levante beach which is absolutely packed but has lovely clean water. Aqualandia and Mundomar are about 15 minutes walk away. Both good days out. I managed to injure myself on just about every slide at Aqualandia. The dolphin show doesn't start until 1.30 so if you get there too early you might be hanging round a bit. The tickets are a little cheaper from the Thomson rep than buying at the attraction door.

Our room on floor 17 had a sea view between the hotels closer to the beach. The balcony was private from the other rooms but didn't get any sun. All of the balconies overlook the entertainment area of the hotel and the hotel next door so don't expect to get any sleep before midnight. The room itself had comfy beds and adequate air conditioning. The safe was 2.50 euros per day and you also had to pay for the fridge, don't know how much that was, we just kept the air-con on all day to keep our water cool rather than pay any more cash. There are no tea and coffee facilities in the room. The bathroom door is frosted glass with a gap all the way round. It doesn't lock and plops can easily be heard so only share a room with someone you are happy to share everything with. The rooms are sound-proofed and we barely heard a peep from inside the hotel so once the entertainment had finished it was very quiet. It was cleaned every day to a very high standard. I did hear one guest moaning that his room hadn't been cleaned all day. We always put the sign on the door asking for it to be cleaned and didn't have any problem.

The food is served practically all day. Apart from the odd hour here and there, either main meals or snacks are available. These have to be eaten in the main dining room. On the whole the food was of good quality though it mainly catered for British tastes. On a few occasions there was a paella. Being a buffet, not everything worked well. The fish in particular was usually overcooked. The food was replenished frequently so it was always fresh looking. You can go up as many times as you like. Breakfast was the worst meal of the day, mainly due to the absence of proper orange juice and coffee. The coffee came out of a machine and was instant, i.e. you could choose an espresso but it was made with instant coffee - yuck. The orange juice was also out of a machine and tasted of Sunny D. Not sure why as they had other fresh juices to choose from. Tea only seemed to be available at breakfast though I did see someone order some from the bar. What was served up was not for the connoisseur.

Alcohol wasn't too bad though the wine was quite rough. The service was OK though on one occasion I was just about to be served when a Spanish couple sauntered up and started talking to the barman and he served them instead. Very rude. The beer is Estrella Damm.

The outside space is quite small and I have uploaded a photo showing the area from above at 8.30am with half the sunbeds already taken. Practically all the sun-beds were reserved by towels by 9am. I detest this selfish practice and think hotels should stop it. I went to a hotel once which removed towels from the sunbeds and consequently there were always sunbeds available. You will need to take your own beach towel. On the last day we decided to spend the day by the pool so we did reserve ours and saw that quite a few of the reserved sunbeds were barely used throughout the day. The three sunbeds next to me had been reserved first thing and the occupants didn't show up until 3 in the afternoon. By late afternoon (5-6pm in July) the entire outside area is in shade from a very tall hotel next door.

The entertainment at the next hotel does drown out Levante Club's entertainment when you are on the 17th floor which is good as their entertainment was better. It happens at a different time each night and the act on stage doesn't always match up with the act advertised. We only watched one act - Dinah Rodd - who was basically Bernard Manning in a dress but not as funny. Most of the jokes were about how the audience weren't laughing (Am I facing the right way? - You should see me in front of a live audience - I don't care if you don't laugh, I've been paid etc).

We did one excursion - the Spirit of Costa Blanca. This was about getting away from the tourist areas and seeing the real Spain. So we went to the most visited village in Costa Blanca and two roadside cafes! It involves a trip round a reservoir on a solar powered boat which is very calm and tranquil with nice scenery and also a trip to local waterfalls which you can swim in if you remember to take your cossie. The riverbed is very stoney and uncomfortable to walk on and lots of people were wearing waterproof footwear. The place they took us for lunch was awful - fish, chicken or pork and chips with iceberg lettuce salad or a choice of 2 pizzas - not remotely Spanish.

There were a couple of hen and stag parties in the hotel but they didn't cause any bother, and only one blow-up doll appeared in the dining room.

The Spa is a different company and costs 12 euros to use, we didn't try it.

Overall it was a good holiday but I won't be going back to Benidorm.

We booked this holiday as a Thomson Gold after a successful one in Rhodes. We were not advised that this is no longer a gold hotel, even though it changed in January this year and I booked it in February 2010. It went all inclusive in May 2010, although you have to make allowances as they are on a learning curve the staff in the bar really need to improve their people skills. They are down right rude and sullen Staff in restaurant are lovely and very helpful. The food is good if a bit repetitive, but always nicely prepared and presented. There were 3 robberies whilst we were at the hotel and staff were not really bothered by it. If like me you cannot go in lift you have to use fire exit, which is dimly lit and very rarely cleaned. Dont use alone, nobody seems to actually know where staircase is. Entertainment is basic but they try really hard. If not downstairs by 8 at latest you will not find more than 1 sunbed together. All in all could of been a good holiday but some staff let hotel down along with management. Drinks at hotel are terrible but you can upgrade to international brands for extra 8 euros per person per day. Beware people with these cards get served before other all inclusive guest. We have booked another Thomson Gold in September and I am dreading it. Would we use this hotel again. No, not even if really cheap deal.
