This was our 2nd hotel out of 3.
We stayed here from 4th - 7th October 2013.
Very good value for money.
Hotel was full, mostly Spanish, they didn't really speak to us, all seemed to know each other, having visited this hotel for many years.
Room was comfortable and cleaned daily.
We stayed half board and were pleased with the choice of food. We watched others in the restaurant and followed them. Wine and water is available to have with your meal and can be purchased a little way down the serving counter, didn't cost very much and was nicely chilled.
We did find we had to check glasses, dishes and cups as we had a dirty one a few times, we just put them on the side and got another one.
Pool area was very nice, we managed to get a sun bed each time, no problem.
Nice 10 minute stroll into the Old Town, stopped off a few times for a drink, there and back, found a nice sports bar to watch football on Saturday. Plenty to do nearby.
Much better than our stay at the previous hotel which was rated 4*.
Nice touch when booking in, we were given 2 buy one get one free drinks vouchers.
Would definately return to this hotel again.
A big thank you to all at the Joya Hotel.

Booked a 1 night stay for the husbands birthday - cheap & cheerful so wasn't expecting much. How lovely - the room was large & well equipped, the bathroom had gorgeous smellies in. We were intending to use it just as a base but as it was so nice we went to the pool for a couple of hours, had a beer (with a 2nd free) & rested from the journey. Didn't eat here so can't comment. Parking was easy & cheap. Think this should definitely be upgraded to a 3 star. Its also far enough to be away from the noise but within a 10 minute walk to the nightlife etc.
The only minus point was no airconditioning so was a bit warm getting dolled up!

Together with another couple, we took a short 2 night break last week at the Hotel Joya. We paid the equivalent of £30 per night on a room only basis so we weren't expecting much. Upon arrival we were very pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the rooms and the position with balconies overlooking the pool on the 1st floor. Furniture was dated but in good condition with comfortable beds. We had booked doubles and received twins but this was fine for a couple of nights. We decided against taking any food option given the poor previous reports however had an adequate snack lunch in the bar/café.
The majority of the customers are elderly Spanish on coach holidays. The entertainment is obviously geared toward them with ballroom dancing and later a Spanish 'disco',
If you are only looking for a cheap base in a fairly good location then this hotel is ideal. It is an easy 10 minute walk to the Old Town & seafront. We did contact the hotel direct beforehand to arrange a car parking space which we understood to be 10 euros per day but we were only charged 8 per day upon arrival. Looking around we probably could have parked for nothing close by on the roadside but there is obviously no guarantee that a space will be available.
The pool was excellent with plenty of available free sunbeds and the bar opens out to the poolside.
Overall great value for money.

Just back from a 4 day break in Benidorm and have say I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at hotel joya. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the rooms are spacious and are cleaned everyday and on the whole the hotel is excellent value for money. Will be going back to Benidorm next year and will staying at hotel joya again!!!!! The only disappointment for me was breakfast which being honest was a waste of time unless you like eating ham and cheese at 8 in the morning but don't let this put you off as the good points far out way the bad points! The only other point I'd make and this applies to most hotels in Benidorm is get a taxi home if you're out late at night drinking into the early hours as like Barcelona pickpockets may be out and about waiting for easy targets, so spending 5 euros on a taxi back is a good option.

My mum, mister and I have just returned from a 3 night break at the Hotel Joya.

Check in was quick, although our first room was overlooking the car park on the first floor and the view was disappointing. I asked if we could change to a poolside room and the reception were very helpful and accommodated our request.

The hotel is situated in a residential area, the walk to the old town took ten minutes, and to the levante beach ten minutes, we took a taxi to the English square which costed about 6 euros. If your looking for a hotel in the centre of BENIDORM or close to the beach or old town then this place is not for you, the walk back is also slightly up hill this was a bit of a problem for our mum., although there are plenty of bars etc. on the way where you can stop and refresh!!

The rooms were basic but clean, as was the communal areas and pool.

The breakfast was poor, we went down the first day and then did not bother, however this wasn't an issue for us as we just ate breakfast out, we hadn't paid a lot for this hotel and didn't expect the breakfast to be four star, you get what you pay for.

The hotel guest were mainly Spanish, although there were British guests staying there as well, some were regular visitors.

The bar was friendly and we didn't have a problem getting served.

There is not much around the hotel with regards to bars/restaurants but they are only a short walk away, there is a nice coffee bar across the road. We enjoyed some lovely meals in the old town and on the promenade tapas was a favourite, it's not all greasy spoons and English pubs.

My only real criticism of the hotel is the disco of an evening, if your poolside and you want an early night forget it, we didn't notice the problem until the night we were due to fly home as the disco stops at 12 (early by BENIDORM standards!!) we went up as we had an early flight back and it was impossible to sleep.

Would I stay again possibly due to the fact it was cheap, and as I said before you get what you pay for, I wasn't expecting five star luxury, and I wasn't disappointed when I didn't get it.

This hotel is one of the cheapest i found in benidorm however it was surprisingly good! We booked for a cheap break so not being my main holiday we was lookin for budget accomadation.

When I was booking i didn't see many pictures on here and didn't know what to expect but i had nothing to worry about.

My biggest worry was the sun around the pool as I like to relax all day by a nice pool. There was no need to worry as the the pool area caught the sun all day. The pool was also a good size however it was very deep and didnt seem to have a shollow end. There was enough sun loungers but these are uncomfortable. The pool area had seats in shaded areas and a bar close which was reasonably priced. Also on arrival we recieved a buy-1-get-1-free ticket each on a pint of lager which was a nice touch.

I was surprised by the room aswel, it was spacious and clean, with air-con, a balcony and a nice bathroom with bath and shower. The furniture was a little dated as mentioned in other reviews but on the whole the room was good and cleaned with new towels every day.

The only problem i wold say with the hotel would be the location. It was about a 15 min walk to the new town and the route seemed a bit seedy late at night. The walk to the old town was a similar distance and up n down hills wasn't ideal the the hot weather. This to me was the only problem and didn't put us off having a good holiday.

We have just arrived home from benidorm hotel joya .we have nothing to complain about joya ,reception very very helpful ,rooms cleaned and beds made every day.it is true this hotel is full of Spanish and ask not to be placed next to the lift as its can be noisiy especially at night .you can hear doors being slammed but we noticed 3 times it was the Spanish chldren doing this .it takes a good 15 (slow)minute walk to beach and nightlife ,you need to cut through side streets ,taxi are between €6 /7 back to hotel .i would rather stay more central to beach and nightlife but if there's no other availability I would stay here again
