we had noticed this hotel on previous visit to Benidorm so decided to stay there this time. we were not disappointed we asked for a high floor with a terrace, we were on the 10th. floor room 1001 and the views from the terrace were breathtaking. right outside the hotel you can get the local bus to anywhere, they are very cheap but can at time be very full. you have shops and the seafront very close to hotel. we only stayed for a week it was a short break to have a much needed rest.we were on full board and the food was excellent some of the best we have ever had in an hotel with a fantastic choice, they catered for everyone. every night there was joints of beef, pork or lamb and the chef would slice it for you, lots of different fish including whole salmon. it was the little things that made a difference like apple sauce with the pork. on the 20th floor you could get a drink and sit outside and view the town from every angle. only down side was a lack of conversation with the staff as most seemed to have very little English. staff in restaurant only seemed to know " water or wine and did not even manage a smile" still it is in Spain so we should not complain. a young lady on reception who told us it was only her second day at the hotel had perfect English and was very helpful. will stay at this hotel again when ever we come to Benidorm.

Room Tip: room 1001 great views and very quiet with a terrace.

This is a lovely hotel in a great location in Central Benidorm. Before travelling we requested a high floor, double bed and a sea view and received all of it! Our Room had 2 x double beds, was spacious and like the rest of the hotel it was spotlessly clean.
Food choices in the restaurant were very good. Staff throughout the hotel are polite, professional and very helpful. There is a lovely comfortable refined ambience in this hotel.
If you are looking for a 4 star hotel close to all the Old Town has to offer and close to Levante beach then this hotel is well worth a visit.

Having stayed at a good number of '4' star Hotels in Benidorm over the last few years or so and trying Hotel Madeira Centro for the first time, we have to say not disappointed in about 98% of the overall service and facilities on offer in this Hotel. It is as we wanted almost centrally situated in the Old town and just a few minutes from Levante Beach. The facilities are excellent with perhaps only disappointment in the small outdoor pool but this is compensated with an indoor pool and gymnasium for those keen to keep fit on a winter break. The bedrooms are very comfortable and well maintained. Free Wi Fi throughout the Hotel and its no bother to obtain this with password from an exceptionally nice group of staff fronting the reception. Fridge in the bedroom has a stock of water, beer, soft drinks and spirits in miniature.
Prices are very reasonable for this as are the prices in the dining room where a decent bottle of
red house wine comes in around 9.50 euros. This compares most favourable with prices in other 4 star hotels that we have stayed in. The dining room is well laid out, service of drinks is excellent and you can either add cost to your final bill or pay as you leave after each visit.
We noted there had been an odd unfavourable remark regarding food but we honestly found
more than enough to chose from, plenty of lovely salads with prawns, salmon, meats and cheeses on offer. Hot dishes always included pasta, meat, fish or chicken and one evening
good quality sirloin cut steaks which were tender to taste. Plenty of veg and different potato dishes, not just chips!. Roast beef and yorkshire pudding was most enjoyable with well
cooked beef and remarkably a very reasonable yorkshire pudding....some hotels produced these in an unbelievable chewy state!. Breakfast had a large selection with fresh omelettes
each day, cheese or ham optional, decent bacon and smashing freshly baked rolls with plenty of different breads available to toast (toaster a bit slow though and often needs second run). The selection of desserts on offer was one of the best we have seen, pity about the diet!.
The 4 lifts provide good service to all of the floors and the panoramic lift is a treat at night especially if travelling to the bar on the 19th floor. Perhaps the 2% of the full 100% we are giving should be explained i.e. when the dancing is on especially on a Sunday evening, the bar waiters (4) kept taking orders from the adjacent 'ballroom' much of which seemed to be inhabited with non residents....therefore along with others on Sunday we waited 40 minutes for our after dinner coffee and brandy. Other guests were getting more irritated by the minute with one calling a waiter over to enquire when orders were going to be taken. It did look like the non residents and the dancers were undoubtedly being given priority....not good for residents...but perhaps management will address this by ensuring at least one waiter attends to the smaller number of residents waiting for drinks in the bar/lounge area.
Staff on the whole were very helpful, courteous and eager to please. Perhaps the only exception would be one waitress in the dining area who could only force a smile with British guests while busy welcoming and chatting away to fellow Spaniards. Even attempting a little Spanish with her did not bring on a glimmer of a smile. Apart from these two fairly minor points this Hotel was really good, a little pricier than some but worth it. For us now its adios to the
Royal, Don Pancho, Princessa or Marina etc and Hasta la vista Madeira Centro. A final special thanks to Reception for meeting our one request for a room not too high up......unless you like
heights and really cannot live without the view from the top any lower floor is fine. The views remember are not of beach or sea, they are of the old town or main avenue with the local buses stopping opposite the Hotel and the taxi rank just round the corner. Watch if you book a promo room as we were told by fellow guests they had no balcony or terrace so the missed out on sitting out on their own balcony for a short spell on a sunny afternoon.

OK here we go, but first PLEASE NOTE the following as in my opinion it will better illustrate the potential abnormalities of some 'adverse' reviews.
1) Spain in January/Feb/March tends to accomodate many European pensioners who get cheaper (subsidised) holidays by way of their respective Governments-David Cameron take note!-thus, most Hotels will have an abundance of Spanish, French and some 'Jarmans' because like any self respecting person these assorted pensioners deserve a holiday like the rest of us! In short, don't holiday either end of the year if you are a racist or prefer your Hotel to be overrun with screaming hordes of out-of-control Pommie juiceheads and benefit abusers!

2) Like most Hotel operations (globally) out of season bookings generally see a reduction in staff and food selection, not particularly serious but enough to make some punters moan about 'lack of choice' or tables not being cleared at warp speed.

3) Entertainment, without a doubt my favourite. Come on guys/girls you ain't in Los Vegas, after blowing your kite out on a good evening meal and copious amounts of cheap beer don't expect the evening 'caberet' to present Celine Dion, Michael Bubblehad (whatever the jokers name is) or Beyonce live!
Instead, it will most likely consist of piped music or some 'Juan Sheet' X-factor reject banging his gonads off on a small organ ("Oooh Matron!") and playing everything from Viva Espana to the French National Anthem.
This usually prompts umpteen geriatrics to get up on their feet, or zimmers, doing a Fred/Ginger routine or a spot of line dancing, normally to an atrocious rendition of 'Achey Breaky Heart'-in Spanish/French or German, the latter a joy to behold!

So, in short (thank god you cry!) all the positives you read about this Hotel throughout these reviews are spot on, most of the negatives are farcical with the one possible exception, namely the Breakfasts!
During the week we stayed at this Hotel the entire breakfast fare was luke warm each morning, the omelletes tastless, fried eggs usually half cooked with burnt edges...but BEWARE the pancakes....these are lethal for the teeth unless you are Jaws (James Bond villian dear)...so hard as to pass as frisbee's and best described as everlasting chews.
No worries with the dinners as the evening chef obviously knows how to cook and as such is brilliant, thus your dentures will not be crucified!

Our room, on the 17th floor number 12, was brilliant being a corner room, bed superb and spotlessly clean, cannot vouch for the oft mentioned 'promo' rooms as never passed an open door, but I could not see them being bad based upon the qulaity of this Hotel. Umpteen TV channels (use the rermote beyond 1-20 and up to 60) but all non-English save, The Disney Channel, BBC World News, Euronews, Europsport and Bloomberg, but who needs TV anyway?

Staff all great, do not mistake serious looking receptionists/waiters as being unfriendly, they are hard working in the extreme, being polite attentive and smart at all times. Personally speaking I fell in love with Ms Gonzales on reception from the moment our eyes met, ooozing customer service skills and excellent command of English.
So if you are booking during the main holiday periods say-late April- September then I would say overall this Hotel is 100%, if (as explained) you go before March or after September then expect a slight downturn on food selection and obviously the entertainment..."hang on, you are in Benidorm, so if you cannot find a night time watering hole offering entertainment to your personal choice then I suggest you go to Latvia next year.

Lastly, and most importantly for parents, I would not consider this a good hotel for children as the pool is small and do not think they even cater for childrens club/entertainment-this would need advance checking.

Location is a mere 4 mins from the beach and old town-well worth perusing the length of the Pontiente beach rather than the Levante end (all British bars, clubs and home to the chavs and hen/stag brigade...hell on earth in the height of the summer).

Financial point to consider if a bit strapped for spondooliks: Located behind the Medeira Centro Hotel is the Benidorm Plaza Hotel...sadly closed in winter but none the less a superb hotel and well worth a price check if money is an issue, food to die for 24/7.

So, off you go and in the words of that very special little yellow person.."check it out Bart, you will not be disapointed.

Memo to management: Train the breakfast chef how to cook and your ratings will soar to 101%

Room Tip: Always request a high room the views are breathtaking and noise non-existent.

We have just returned from a week at this hotel. Sadly it was very disappointing. Like some other reviewers we had booked a promo room not realising this meant no balcony and they didn't have a room available for us to up grade to unfortunately. when we went to the room it was more akin to a broom cupboard with a window that opened about 4 inches. the air conditioning didnt work and i reported it, the technician came to the room said the air conditioning was heating not cooling the room and it would be fixed in a couple of hours. it wasnt and i reported the fault a further 3 times wit the technician attending each time leaving a note to say it was fixed but had simply turned off the air con. at the consumer unit. we gave up and put up with the stuffiness. it was 28.5 degrees at one point. The reception and dining room staff could give Basil Fawlty a run for his money and were positively rude however the Spanish, of which there are plenty staying at the hotel, appear to have a different experience. on a positive note the food is fine with plenty of choice particularly in the evening. The hotel is also in a good location.

We stayed at the hotel last year and it was fine however we wont be returning next year.

Room Tip: ask for a room on a high floor to enjoy the view of the sea and a room with a balcony.

My wife and I were lucky enough to have a last minutebreak here. We chose this hotel because we had walked past it many times and thought we would like to stay, and the fact it is in the heart of all that is Benidorm.

First impressions....great location, large, high hotel, outside glass elevator, welcoming bright foyer.

Location....fantastic, easy access to the old town, and levante beach, and a 15mins walk to poniente beach. Lots of bars, shops, restaurants nearby, try the manila cafe on the beachfront for excellent sangria at 6€ per jug.

Check in....very efficient and friendly. Safe was 21€..not a deposit.

Room....Typical hotel room, with twin beds, blackout curtains, flatscreen tv,hairdryer, bath and the most powerful shower yet experienced. Large balcony overlooking levante and the old town. Wifi free.

Food....excellent quality and good variety. Usually something roasted each night ie pork, chicken, steaks. Friday night is gala night with lots and lots of large prawns on offer. Breakfast was also excellent with freshly squeezed orange juice, and cava being available.

Poolside....very small pool, but surrounding terraces kept spotless and receive the sun for most of the day. Indoor pool also available.

Entertainment.....limited to music for more spanish residents of the elder variety. Note..the majority of residents during our stay were Spanish, which allowed us the opportunity to learn a bit more lingo.

Staff....cannot be faulted, we found them to be friendly, and professional in their duties. Very smartly dressed.

Bar areas...good, try the bar on the 20th floor, amazing views. Unfortunately the restaurant on the 21st floor was closed. Note to hotel, maybe an idea to update the brochure in the room.

Cleanliness....again very good. Rooms cleaned daily.

Overall...a very good, relaxing break with good food
and drink, in a comfortable atmosphere.

This hotel is situated at the edge of Benidorm's old town. The hotel rooms are spacious and clean. The reception staff are very helpful and friendly. The restaurant offers a very wide range of food with a good selection. High floors have a good view of the sea and mountains. Make sure you email the hotel with your booking reference and request this. You need to book a room as part of the holiday booking with a balcony otherwise you may not get one.
