“A lot of money for poor quality food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2013 via mobile

In a nutshell - food pretty average but expensive for what is was. Avoid mixed paella. Overcooked and not fresh.!

“Pay for 'Free'”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 September 2013

Went to this restaurant for a special occasion meal with my family during our holiday. Ordered 6 pints of lager which seemed to be the best part of the meal. We all wanted the same so had mixed paella for 6. We were told by the waiter it would be 25 mins for this and asked if we wanted a salad whilst we waited? we rejected and waited for the meal. About 15 mins into our wait, a basket of bread was brought over and placed on our table, which we ate whilst waiting for the meal. When it arrived, the rice was overcooked & crisp around the edge of the 2 pans, whilst the mussels seemed somewhat undercooked. Nonetheless we finished our meal without complaints as we were hungry after the wait.
When we requested our bill, we noticed we had been charged 5.90€ for the bread, despite the fact we had not ordered it & upon rechecking the menu, nowhere did it state we had to pay for 'complimentary' (or so we thought) bread. Would have complained about this but couldn't wait to get out of there!
Definitely recommend going to cheaper restaurants with proper cooked paella, more friendly staff & FREE bread.

“Delicious!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 December 2012

This restaurant, right in the centre of Benidorm, overlooking Levante Beach is an absolute delight and confounds all expectations one might hold of what you can expect to eat in Benidorm. For 14 euros you can get a wonderful 4-course Menu of the Day, including wine and bread. The food is very Spanish (no cheap rubbish burger and chips here) wholesome, extremely tasty and beautifully prepared. The service is quick and efficient - the staff don't smile very much, but then they are usually rushed off their feet as the place is always busy - often frequented as much by locals than foreign tourists. They do try and rush you, that's the only downside - no sooner have you put your soup spoon down than they're bringing out the next course - so either go very slowly or tell them you want to take your time. The smiling owner is a pleasure to behold and he makes all his customers feel welcome and valued. Some of the nicest food we have had for the price - and we would not hesitate to return. Highly recommended.

“Great Light Lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 November 2012

This restaurant is in a great position at the Old Town end of Levante Beach.Ceratainly out of peak season it is frequented by a lot of Spanish. We only wanted a light lunch so opted for a plate of fried achovies and a plate of mixed fried fish, squid etc at about four euros a plate. In both dishes the fish tasted spankingly fresh and not at all greasy. The waiter did not speak English but was very patient when we tried to order the food. The coffee was one Euro and the brandy was one of the most generous measures I have had. What's not to like!

“An excellent restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 November 2012

My friends and I have been going to this restaurant for 12 years and will continue it go for many years to come. The restaurant is in a superb position at the end of the Levante beach just on the edge of the old town overlooking the Mediterranean. There is ample inside and outside seating but you would need to book a table on a weekend as it is always busy. I've seen many a Spanish family queue for well over 30 minutes on a Sunday! It is well worth the wait though as the food is excellent as is the service. I always find it reassuring when you see same staff over the years and when the place is always busy, it speaks volumes. The seafood is delicious and my husband said that the steak was one of the best he'd had in a long time. Give it a try, you won't regret it.
