We just arrived home for a lovely week in Calpe. There were 13 of us and the smallest kid only 16 months old.
I loved the entrance of the house, the stairs the fountain area (did not contain water - which was a good thing with our little one). - Just made a good impression on arrival.
The house has a large and functional garden. Tennis court, bocce court and pool area. Inside the house there were 4 bathrooms and 7 bed rooms. And 3 living rooms. The kitchen had two refrigirators with freezers and there was also a room with washing machine that was used quite a bit I guess (I am not a certified wash-technician I have to admit).
The pool area was used extensively. We alternated between sun beds, pool and sitting in the shade. - The teenagers went inside from time to time to sit with their laptops. - Yes, Wi-fi there, worked pretty stable, not fast, but more stable than most places I have been to lately.
There are severeal supermercados within acceptable walking distance for most people (4-8 minutes walk). If you need fresh bread earlier than 9 am, just go otuside the gate and take the avenida Diputacion (just ouside the gate) to the left and follow until you get to the Mercadona and turn right. - The mercadona opens at 9 am but just below is a small "prensa" (bookshop) that has fresh bred from 7 am.
We had to vacate the house at 10am the last day, but the owners allowed us to store luggage in the house until pickup at 3pm. I guess this will depend on when the next party arrives, but very nice of them!
Would very much recommend larger families to rent this house and there are also a couple of tapas-places/resturants pretty close by.
