When entering the restaurant you get a great impression, its a very beatiful location with a large and clean terras with in the middle a pool. The service is very good and they look after their customer needs. Not less important the food was prepared by a top chef, for a starter I had the shasimi tuna, I have experienced a plate with good fresh tuna and around it all kind of specialized taste experiences. The main course and the dessert were also a positive surprise. Definately worth going to Puerto Blanco when visiting Calpe.

Let me start by saying this restaurant is better than average but TA only allow you 3 stars for average or 4 stars for v good. Puerto Blanco tonight for us was neither. It was good but could have been better. However the food and the setting are fantastic. It's a beautiful restaurant set around a pool with lots of beautiful trees. Very romantic and wonderfully relaxing you get the feeling that this will be a special meal. We watched as groups arrived and the lead waitress went out to greet them like old friends and obviously returning guests. Our welcome was polite, efficient but just lacked a little extra friendliness. The food matches the setting - spectacular. There is no defined children's menu despite there being over a dozen in attendance throughout the night. This should be attended to. If parents are welcomed then so should children and a menu dedicated to little ones would be desirable. We shared two gorgeous starters of pasta with bacon, chicken & cream and a dish of wonderful risotto with plump scallops. Both dishes were excellent costing about €15 each. Mains were equally as good, duck, wonderful lamb, sea bass & an amazing salmon dish. Prices ranged from €20 to €25. We practically licked the plate but...this isn't the place for that. Our 10yr old had chicken with chips. All good but the plate was incredibly hot and despite the warning from our waitress he burnt his wrist. One would have to question why a child's dinner would arrive on a plate that you couldn't touch. A basic error but a very sore lesson for our child. Our waitress accidentally served us each a sorbet on the house but these were very quickly whipped away when it was realised they were for another table. I thought this was a mistake. We felt embarrassed & excluded. If you ever serve a complimentary sorbet by mistake then let it stand. You do more damage trying to rectify your mistake. Puerto Blanco has an excellent wine list. A few more choices by the glass perhaps would be welcomed. For food and setting Puerto Blanco is an excellent choice. It isn't cheap. For 2 starters and mains for 2 adults and 3 children we spent €167. The setting matches the food. A few tweaks on the service and this restaurant would deserve 5 stars. Good but a little way to go.

Would highly recommend this restaurant. We had a poolside table outside with lovely heated lamps as the evening got cooler. The view of the terrace with cute harbor and bay beyond was idyllic. We opted for the 39 euro set menu as it was a special occasion and were not disappointed. The food was excellent value given the standard. Not only were all three courses perfect but they were complimented with a delicious salmon caviar opener (not advertised) and a yummy sorbet after the starter. The forest flavours Carpaccio was one of the best things I ever tasted! The service is excellent, though very formal. One slight suggestion would be to make the restaurant entrance clearer as we and others walked into the toilets given the lack of a 'wait here to be seated sign'.
Otherwise, perfect!
