Great day out the water is so refreshing, also make sure you have no cuts as the water will sting, Also on the 332 going to Alicanti if you are lucky you will see the flamingos, and also the pink water which is because of the shrimps. Worth a visit.

You can enter the salt lake by exiting the roundabout at San Luis (by Da Vinci's). Wearing aqua shoes or similar is essential if you walk into the lake as the salt crystals are razor sharp. The water is very smooth on the skin as it is so saline and is apparently very good for the skin and joints. You can get some great photos as everything reflects as a mirror image. Consider taking a plastic chair for a sit down to soak up the peaceful atmosphere.

Lovely sands and beautiful and clean salt water and lake, nice and quiet and a good place to relax for a picnic and walk your dogs!

If you manage to find friends that live in Torrevieja you can get in to the lakes via a passage. There are several entrances. Many locals go there to bathe and cover themselves with the natural minerals from the deposits around the lakes. There are sulfur rich deposits and then the salty mud around the edge of the water. It will leave your skin feeling like you've just spent a day at the SPA. Frankly, it is like an outdoor natural SPA.

Take care not to get the salty water in your eyes haha It'll sting like nothing else. You float in the lakes. Like you're made of air. Imagine trying to push a beach ball into the water. That is how YOU will feel :D

If you have issues like asthma you should definitely try being close to these lakes. It clears the airways :)

Hire a bike (9euro perday) from 'I love Bike' in Los Montesinos then cycle to Torreviaja via the lakes and back again, stopping for luch in Torreviaja. There is a bike park at the end of the track and they provide a bike lock for you when you hire the bikes.
