Took me a 3 mile walk to get here from the apartment and it was worth it to see this strange pink salt lake, I was too scared to go into the water although there was lots of people swimming in there. People were also covering themselves in mud from the banks at the side of the river.

From the bus station of Alicante catch the bus of the company called Costa Azul (price is around 4euro) which will lead you to the bus station of Torrevieja. Cross the street and you'll find a bus stop. Catch the bus numer B (ticket 1,45 euro) that will lead you to las salinas, the salt lakes.
Something very important to bring is some bottles of fresh water in order to clean yourself after the bath in the salty water, because it makes your skin really dry. It is really important. If only we knew it!...
The area is also perfect for mud bathing (wear the mud for at least 20 mins on your body)
If you're lucky, you can also see flamingos! ;)

This lake is a working salt lake and the surrouning land in a national park that is fenced off from the publice. However the fence has been cut in many places and people use the lake and onbody in orthority seems to bother,

This is an amazing pink lake, it was as warm as bathwater and we floated like the dead sea, (take swim goggles as the salty water stings your eyes and blurs your vision a bit, also cover wounds and scrapes well as they sting a lot til you get used to it) wear sandals or swim shoes too,as the shore is hard white salt! This water made our skin feel so soft and smooth, altogether an amazing experience!
