“Great little place beside the cathedral”

La Sardeneria is a great find! Small place, good honest food, Sardines fresh and tasty. Amazing location beside the cathedral tower. Service friendly, waiter went out of his way to help us.

“Not clean”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 September 2013 via mobile

Our table cloths were the same than the previous clients and really sticky!. Kind of fast food. It's in a very nice location. Bad desserts. Once and no more.

“Centre of town: Poor service, mediocre food, poor value”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2013

A restaurant situated on the main square called Sardineria, looked enticing after a morning visiting the churches, but what a disappointment! The calimari was like rubber and the waiter could not care less. A couple of grilled sardines and the roast potatoes with some sauce thrown over them. Perhaps because most of the trade is passing, they do not look for repeat business. Instead go across the road to Finnegan's and have the chowder or continue down the road to Mon.

“Great wine, shame about the food!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2013

Had an evening meal at this restaurant recently. I ordered the fresh Tuna steak which was priced at around 15 Euros. When it arrived it was just a piece of tuna, a small basic side salad and a few French fries together with a dressing on the side which didn't really work with the tuna. All in all I didn't find it that appetising but it wasn't bad enough to complain. Just thought it was overpriced for the quantity and quality to be honest.

“Efficient Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2013

It was a rainy night and the resaurant was so full they were turning away customers. With only one guy serving approx 30 customers I thought we were going to be in for a long night waiting. However, much to my pleasant surprise, the service was extremely efficient without making the customers feel rushed. Everyone got the service promptly and courses were served and plates cleared reasonably quickly. We went for some of the tapas which were all of a good quality, hot and presented well. Restaurant was good value.

One quibble was that the tables were too close together so you felt you were having a meal with
those beside you but its a small and intimate restaurant so thats to be expected.

Overall I recommend it.
