We stayed here for 4 nights in august, the hostal is in quite a good location (halfway between Valencia center and the arts and science park), the lady who was there to greet us was fantastic and helpful.

Good place to stay for a few days.

Hostal Waksman is a great small place to stay, near the citycentre (20 mins walking distance, 5 mins bus). Super friendly helpful staff keeping the place super clean and going out of their way to help you find your way around the city. I would definitely come back here and I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Valencia.

We stayed here 1 night. Great hostal, friendly staff, cheap. Spanish style, cosy, clean. We got our own room with sink (washing stand) + there was a shower/bath room across the hall. Good location, close to 'city of arts and sciences'. Free WIFI.

We stayed 3 nights in a room with a private bathroom. It should be said we stayed there during an unusually hot period in August.

GOOD: Price, friendly staff, nice view from the window, good ventilator. You can buy cold drinking water at the reception (1,5 litre = 1 euro) 50% of the time.

BAD: Staff doesn't speak English at all, guests slamming doors very loudly during the night, loud creaking parquet in the hall, very small and leaking shower cabin, no chairs, passage to the window occupied by a huge TV. 50% of the time you can't buy drinking water, and coffee never (but it's in the room menu). In the bathroom there is only one (used) hand washing liquid soap (no shower gel or shampoo). Ventilator didn't help much, it was very hot during the night (no air conditioning).

UGLY: Very bad cleaning service: we didn't mind that the room hasn't been cleaned daily, but one day, while making the beds (with old sheets), they randomly rearranged our dirty old towels so we didn't know which is which, and that was very unhygienic. It would be better if they didn't touch anything at all.

OVERALL: We wouldn't go there again. But it's ok for a cheap place.
