Review of SH Ingles

We turned up here on spec and got a reasonable rate, although were expected to pay up front. Breakfast is good, although very cramped eating area. I found the corporate aroma overwhelming and unpleasant (similar to cheap joss-sticks everywhere). Reception staff were fine but we weren't overwhelmed with the place

We booked this hotel following other reviews about the location and we were not disappointed. Situated in the heart of the old town, this hotel is a perfect location to see all of the sights that Valencia has to offer.

We took the "hop on hop off bus" but would probably recommend to others than you can see most of the sites yourself on foot, always a good reason to stop at one of the many coffee shops when your feet get tired !

Tip to climb to the top of the miguelet is to get there early, we arrived just as it was opening up and were one of a small handful to climb the 200 plus stairs (not for the faint hearted). When we came back down it was queued out the door !

Hotel was good, clean and room was the same, would recommend a stay here.

I have just stayed for 3 nights in the Melia Ingles Hotel. The hotel is situated in a central location close to the shoppng area of Colon and within easy reach of most of the touirst attractions. Catherdral 3 mins walk, Bull ring 15 mins. However it is a long walk to the oceanigraphic about 50 mins, which you can walk through the park that was once the river bed. The hotel is also close to other plazas, where there is a good selection of restaurants and bars. We travelled direct from the ariport to the hotel via the metro system which was cheap and easy. Buffet breakfast was 10 euros each and had a very good selection of cereals, fresh fruit, hot food and cakes. The hotel room was large with a good size bathroom and very well appointed with satellite TV, air conditioning, hairdrier etc. Although there were not any tea and coffee facilities you could order them by room service.

We came to Valencia a year ago and stayed at the Vincci Lys (also great) but coudn't get a room so decided to stay here. To be honest I think the Melia Ingles is in a better location but only just. You are right to next to the fabulous ceramic's museum and a minute or two walk from the main sqjare. The rooms are large, wooden floors and nearly all have patio style windows out onto the street. Breakfast was included in our rate and although not stunning it was more than adequate and plenty of choice. Great hotel and would stay again.

We stayed here for a couple of nights in January. Our room was very large and comfortable, with a good bathroom. It looked out over the street, so there was a bit of traffic noise. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, because there was so much choice in the area (e.g. hot chocolate and churros for 5 Euros 5 minutes walk away). Only complaint, apart from street noise, was poor digital television reception. But you don't go to Valencia to watch television. This hotel was ideally situated, and everything we wanted to see in our short stay was just a few minutes walk away. We were there for the festival of San Vincente, and there were splendid parades and displays of dancing by people dressed in local costumes. And the temperature reached 24! We'd recommend Valencia for a short break, and this hotel because it is comfortable and very central.

This hotel is located right in the old town of Valencia. It is short walking distance to many of the attractions of old town. The room was very large and nicely appointed. The bathrooms were also large. The breakfast was good. We had a lovely view of the porcelain museum opposite the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was a problem since it was an expensive 20 euros per night at a local parking station.
