“Good but not Great”
Reviewed 16 September 2012

This place has good food but we have had better. If you want great Thai, I recommend a fantastic place about a 10 min walk away. See my other review regarding the "Best food in Valencia"

“A Disneyfied, expensive rip-off”
Reviewed 6 November 2011

A very disappointing experience for anyone who has eaten Thai food in Thailand or even in a Thai-run restaurant in the UK. First impressions are favourable: the exquisite, though fake, Thai decor and the ambitious menu with the names of the dishes in Thai held out a promise that was soon dashed, however, when the food arrived.

The wine list is reasonable but very overpriced - I calculated that the average markup was 200%. The waiter appeared not to have been trained to serve wine. We chose a good Utiel-Requena crianza but he upended the bottle and sloshed it in the glasses like it was Coca Cola. We forbade him to touch the bottle after that.

The front-of-house staff appear to be Filipinos, and it was obvious that when the food arrived that there was no-one Thai in the kitchen either. Our food arrived very quickly - so quickly that we suspected an industrial operation based on pre-prepared portions which were reheated. Our Tom Yang soups were unremarkable but passable, but the main courses were a disaster. I chose a Panang beef curry, my guest a Panang prawn curry. Neither was recognisable as a Panang curry, and although mine was described as "strong", it was impossible to detect any spicing whatsoever, or indeed, any flavour other than coconut milk. It was described on the menu as being made from beef fillet but it was clear from the grain and texture of the meat that it was a cheap cut - probably frying steak.

My complaints about the lack of authenticity and lack of detectable spicing were met by the remark, "Well, that's how we do it here", and my complaint that the beef was not as described on the menu was simply denied in the face of the evidence. There was no apparent concern or regret that we had not enjoyed the meal. We paid 80 euros for two soups, two so-called curries, one bowl of rice and two desserts plus wine, which we thought poor value.

All in all, this is an expensive Disneyfied reproduction of a Thai restaurant designed to appeal to smart, most young Spanish who want to show off in front of their friends without the palates of the most timid among them being challenged. As such, it is as plastic and inoffensive as any "recreation" at Disneyland. I would certainly not eat there again, and I would recommend anyone who loves Thai food to avoid it.

“Nice Decor Poor Food”
Reviewed 6 November 2011

We started with Tom Ka Gai which was, at best, average. This was followed by a Panang curry that was a water mess with a few prawns. This dish was not even close to a panang curry. For the sweet we played safe and had mangoe with sticky rice on the basis that it's difficult to mess up slicing a mangoe.
Overall a very poor imitation of Thai food.
