“Very average hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2013

Good: helpful reception staff
Bad: absolutely not any soundproof, everything is kind of old, not clean carpets in the corridors, the hotel is a bit ran down...typical cheap accomodation (one of those big hotels that don't have good quality)
Breakfast quite good, but still - the way it is - a typical big lower class hotel :)

The hotel was a perfect start to my trip. The views from the roof were amazing. The pool was perfect for the summer to go and cool down in. They had plenty of sun loungers. Staff were really friendly at the desk, very good with giving advice on where to go and how to get there. The rooms were clean, and you get given fresh towels quite often. Right next to Turia metro which connects to the airport. Also there was a big department store next door called 'El Corte Ingles' which has a supermarket on the bottom floor which was very handy. Overall my stay was really good.

While the Expo isn't right in the middle of town, it's convenient to everything (the Corte Ingles with a grocery store inside is right next door) and very reasonably priced. Also, the shared spaces--lobby, bar, rooftop--are quite nice. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. But don't expect much from your room. I was traveling alone and found the room decently sized and clean, and that's the highest praise I can give it. There is no soundproofing at all, so you will hear everything your neighbors do. Everything. The rooms have not been updated and are spartan, so you won't find yourself wanting to linger there. The next time I come to Valencia, I will look for a nicer hotel in the same location/price range, just in the interest of getting a better night's sleep.

Roof top swimming pool is a buy. The view of the city from there is lovely.
Very good location for both long range buses in Estacion de Autobuses and metro just in front. Moreover, old city centre is not far.

Hotel Expo is a reasonably priced hotel, just outside town but with excellent transport links. Its steps away from the metro station and one stop away from a main station with links to everywhere in city and beaches (25min metro/tram ride). The metro is clean, efficient and cheap. Many buses stop outside the hotel including tourist ones and theres a taxi rank at the door (not usually a taxi taker but they were cheap, it was very hot, and drivers were lovely!) all drivers know Expo so easy to get home. 15/ 25 mins from airport in taxi to return to airport and only 14 euros (took metro from airport to hotel- 3.60 euro 30mins)
Shopping centre behind hotel has few little cafes and a very good supermarket for super fresh fruit, bread, cheeses and ham perfect for picnic brinch in Jardin del Turia with is next to hotel (lovely park behind hotel too)
Hotel info- we had 8floor triple room facing main road. Interesting views but noisy all night (traffic not people) however with window shut it was fine and we needed aircon on anyway. Fridge in room but no tea/coffee. Reasonable size, 2 door to corridor to keep out neighbours noise, good sized bathroom, tv with English lang news channels, large wardrobe but few hangers. Basic toiletries but lots of towels. Maid service excellent.
Had breakfast at hotel once and selection was great. Rooftop bar has lovely, chilled atmosphere late at night and excellent cocktails! Used pool twice late afternoon - small and busy but friendly. No shade at all so factor 50!
Reception staff very friendly and good local knowledge. All this for £39 a night.

A tired hotel with stained hallway carpets.
The rooms are a reasonable size but have no sound insulation at all so be prepared to join with your fellow guests ablusions.
We stayed for two nights.
On the second night we were woken at 5am by someone's alarm going off. After 10 minutes we contacted reception who could do nothing but knock on the door and ring the room's telephone.
As sleep was impossible we checked out. The staff offered no compensation and, when my wife complain it had spoilt the weekend, the receptionist laughed.
We live in Spain and have stayed in many Spanish hotels and this has been the worst we have experienced.

Really easy transport links by bus and metro. Hotel really good value and staff very friendly and offered good advice. Rooms could do with being slightly bigger and are a little dated with not much storage. Would come back again.
