Sercotel Acteon Valencia

I stayed here with two other friends for La Tomatina festival, so the hotel was organised by the travel company we went with. We stayed a total of two nights, check in was easy (our reps were more friendly than the hotel staff however). The room was nice, bit dated but did the job apparent from the beds weren't comfy and the pillows were like rocks! Hotel bar staff are rude and not that welcoming. The breakfast was quite good but what you should receive for a 4*. Service was again unfriendly.

The hotel was nearer the port which didn't seem like the best part of Valencia, the old town seemed nicer and had a lot more going on and more of a vibe about it.

Overall it is ok for the price, would have been better if the hotel staff learn't how to smile! Wouldn't stay here again, I would find somewhere closer to the Old Town.

A typical 4* business hotel in an OK location for getting into the city/beach/port area. Stayed in high season mid-weekend in August the hotel was packed with coach parties. Despite this check-in was quick and the staff pleasant.

Rooms are large and comfy enough. The free WiFi worked OK. Very quiet at night despite being busy and near lifts. As the hotel is tucked back from the main road (Av. del Port) there is little traffic noise with windows closed.

Breakfast was very good, with a decent variety and good coffee. As the hotel was almost full the breakfast service was very hit and miss with lots of items and coffee running out and staff who were not used to being this busy with perhaps a lack of training. It was more amusing than a real issue as the quality and choice of breakfast was above average, our fault for staying in August! Would not let it put me off staying out of season.

There are plenty of snack bars on the main road but no decent restaurants nearby, not the best area but perfectly safe. Walk to the beach is 30 minutes. Lots of free parking in the street.

TIP - Hotel is easy to miss. It is located directly behind the petrol station midway along Avenida del Port.

We stayed two at the hotel during the summer.
The rooms we're very nice with big beds and big bathroom. However the TV was not working during the entire stay and we had trouble with the sink on the first day (got fixed right away however). The squash court was also very cool and we never waited in line. When we had to leave in the middle of the night they we're quick to order a cab.
With that said the placement of the hotel wasn't what we expected. It was aprx 3 km from the beach. The staff wasn't easy to talk to, they we're OK at english but didn't seem interested in us, as guests.

Smart hotel with a good sized room and splendid bathroom. We had an extra bed for a teenager and it was comfortably accommodated. The parking fee is a little steep at €14 per night but getting taxis or a bus nearby was inexpensive.

We enjoyed our two night stay at the Abba Acteon Hotel. While the room didn't have any wow factor, it was large clean and well laid out. I much prefer a proper double bed rather than two singles together. Breakfast was very nice, lots of selection and good coffee. The hotel is about a ten minute walk from the metro, once you know the route, and I'd highly recommend using the metro to get about. Really love valencia and this time we did a biking tour which i'd recommend to see the city from a different angle.

Stayed in this hotel as part of a tour. Was given a room on the second floor. As you walk down the corridor you can see the dirt piled on either side of the walkway. In the room their was used band aids and parts of an apple core in the bathroom. Dust throughout the room. Asked the desk to send a cleaner. She arrived promptly and announced the room was fine, I leaned down and drew her a picture in the dirt on the floor. It appears the minimum is done to clean the rooms as very thick layers of dust can be seen. Beds are rock hard and breakfast was very ordinary.

Dear AP,

First of all, we would like to thank you for letting us know your opinion about your stay at our hotel. It really helps us achieving our main goal, which is to improve our service every day.

Secondly, we are sorry to know that your stay in our hotel didn't fullfil your expectations.
We have to admit that unfortunately, when you stayed at abba Acteon Hotel, the conditions of the corridor and your room were not correct due to some internal problems that we had during those days.
We have already spoken to the departement in charge of the cleanning of that area and we have made sure that this will not happen again.

Looking forward to seeing you soon in abba Acteon or any other abba Hotel.

Best regards,
abba Hotels

We stayed there as part of a Trafalgar tour. While it's hard to differentiate some of the hotels on the tour from some of the others, we thought the Acteon had very comfortable rooms, the place was clean, reception friendly and accommodating, and it was reasonably near to attractions. The buffet breakfast is quite good. I couldn't get enough of the hard crusted rolls. A good, modern choice for Valencia. As for the city itself, I loved it. And the science center /concert hall complex is an eye-popping, world class plaza. Why it doesn't have all the fame enjoyed by the Sydney Opera House is beyond me. I'm attaching a few pictures of the complex.
