We were taken by David Warriinton to the village of El Palmar, near Valencia for an excellant lunch. We then visited an extremely interesting, and secluded, bird sanctuary, where we saw an amazing variety of wading birds. Altogether over 20 types.
After a couple of hours of wonderful bird watching, where David's expertise was absolutely key, we went to meet a local boat man, who took us on a trip round Albufera lake to see more birds, but most beautiful of all was the sunset over the lake. This amazing spectacle viewed from water level completed a truly remarkable experience. One which one would never forget.
The Albufera Lake area is beautiful protected national park south of Valencia.
