“Grossly overpriced!”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

Everything with this hotel is actually ok, but the point is that it is grossly overpriced! 5 star prices for an establishment that is at best a good 4 star....Problem is it is difficult to find good hotels in Valencia...

Just back from Hotel Las Arenas. Fantastic Hotel with everything you could want. Great food and lovely room. Wonderful atmosphere and the staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Location is right in front of beautiful beach with a nice promenade and restaurants. It is about 20 mins on a bus to city centre which is easy to get to with restaurants and shops galore. It is about a 7 min taxi ride to to science and arts museum and a great park for walks or cycling. You can hire bikes really easily and a lot of people cycle the park or seafront with great cycle paths. The hotel is a bit pricey but well worth with it. I'm definitely saving again for our return next year.

my wife and i stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in the middle of our spain trip to barcelona, valencia and madrid trip. the hotel has beautiful grounds , immaculately clean, nice size pool and wonderful proximity to the beach, restaurants up the boardwalk and lil kiosks and more restaurants down the other boardwalk. need to eat at the restaurants next to hotel because the food prices at the hotel are way to high. my wife got a full lobster and glass of wine for 20 euros at AZECUNA restaurant which was excellent, as apposed to a bacon cheeseburger in las arenas for 21 euros. i booked a double/twin room city view. big mistake, as the views on the ocean view rooms are more expensive, the views are amazing, as apposed to the city view being depressing and not very nice looking. if i was to go back i would buck up and pay a little extra for a room facing the ocean. besides that the room was big, clean and nice bathroom. the beds were two twin bed pushed together with different bedding. awful. i slept in a bed by myself, next to my wife because we were in separate beds pushed together. i mean, couldn't give a married couple a double bed that is a real double bed? besides these minor inefficiencies i would fully recommend this hotel, because during the day you walk to the beach, pay 12 euros for an umbrella and 2 chairs and spend all day enjoying the beautiful beach. destiny 56 is a great place to get breakfast and lunch, and for late night hang out, my wife and i enjoyed the reggae spot PURA VIDA, w dj damian, which had very cheap beers and shots and was great to chill at. and augustin was the nicest and most helpful at the front desk! by far!

Room Tip: ocean view 10 times better than city view, trust me

This is the 4th year in a row that we have had a short stay at this hotel. Overall this is a very good hotel, the service is good and the location excellent. The only negatives are that the bathrooms are a bit dated and our room this year was disappointing as we had a shower in the bath only. Also not keen on the fact that you have to have vouchers for your towels and hand them in each day, most 5 star hotels don't do this!

Great location by beech but the property is sprawling and impersonal. The service (particularly at breakfast) is woeful. The reception staff are very indifferent and when we complained about the obscene car park charges the front office manager was a disgrace. So belligerent. The poolside cafe is great and the staff there are so helpful. The hotel rooms are a good size but the showers are out dated and dysfunctional. Very over engineered when all you really want is a simple working shower with a rainfall head. How difficult can that be. I am not sure that I would stay again. Very disappointkg.

Room Tip: Book twin sea view. City view room are awful

Forget about the official 5 star rating of this hotel: this is in reality a 4 star place with some amenities of a 5 star.
The hotel is rather new but designed in a pseudo antic Greek temple style. While there is a historical reason to that we didn't like at all the way it was translated in the room design.
Unfortunately like in many hotels the room doors are not providing sufficient sound proofing.
While the food of the main a la carte restaurant (Brasserie) was good the interior design is not very welcoming and the prices way too high. This restaurant is best enjoyed on the terrace.
Employees were rather nice but the service was pretty inconsistent.
