My wife and I were travelling throughout Portugal and Spain. My wife had polio and she uses crutches and a wheelchair. We planned to stay in Valencia for six days so we could be near the Palau de les Arts (Opera House) in Valencia. We booked four nights at Barceló for a great rate (72Euros/night) and were waitlisted for two more nights after we got there. We ended up staying all six nights. The last nights were at a higher rate -(105Euros) but it was worth it. The friendly staff let us pick the accessible room, showing us several. The hotel met all of our expectations. The accessible room worked out well. We did not take the breakfast package, but ate ala carte. Good breakfast spread. We would like to thank Lucia, Christina, Zaiza, Lani, and others for making this stay so enjoyable.

Room Tip: Pick a higher room-- quieter.

This hotel is a bit stark and "trendy" for my liking. Stayed 1 night only as part of a tour group booking and although it looks impressive upon entry, looks can be deceiving. On our floor the walls in the hallway have taken some heavy knocks with the house maids' trolly or something similar and there are extensive gouge marks along the passage. Similarly, in our room on the bathroom section (can't call it a bathroom because it couldn't be closed off from the rest of the room), the ply wood panels were peeling off at floor level from being wet on too many occasions I can only guess.
Bed was comfortable and air conditioning worked well and was very quiet but the double glazed windows didn't block the street noise particularly well. The curtains and electric internal blinds I must say did and excellent job of keeping the room dark.
The bathroom set up, with no separating door from the bedroom was just plain impractical. There was a separate door to the toilet it must be said but this was just a frosted glass panel which really didn't do a particularly good job and although it was hinged so that it could open inwards or outwards, opening it inwards it scraped on the ceiling light fitting.
All of the above for a hotel that really only seemed a few years old (10 maybe?)
Ignoring al this (if you can), the breakfast was excellent.

Room Tip: A room with a view across the former river area ( now a park and science/cultural centre) would be a...

I used this as a base for a business trip, but it gave so much more than expected! Very clean, great staff, great food and rink and a perfect base for the local attractions. I would definately use Barcelo Vlencia again. In fact I am planning a short break with my wife as soon as possible!

We stayed in this hotel for one night in a triple share room in June.
The room was reasonably large, even with the addition of a third bed. Rooms were decorated in a modern manner.
The lifts were so slow, it was a hassle going up and down each time.
Location wise the hotel was a good 10 minutes by cab from the city centre. There was a good selection of restaurants (open late from 19:00 for dinner) near the hotel and then is also a branch of El Cortes Ingles only two blocks away.
One strange thing about the room was that each room opened straight onto the bathroom. There is no door between the bathroom/shower and the front door, very strange since anyone can walk whilst one was taking a bath.
Apart from that the hotel is ok for a one night stay.

Very nice hotel, wonderful breakfast buffet. The fitness room was a little bit too hot and i missed a swimming pool but nevertheless a good solution for my business trip. Hotel staff is very kind, participating and efficient!

I was here for 3 nights on business. Everything was exceptional about the hotel. The only bad thing I can say is that the bed was a little hard for my taste. Breakfast was very nice. Hotel is very clean and on the fancy side.
