Stopped in her for lunch after a morning at the beach. This restaurant is right beside the tram stop. It offers a wide selection of fish and shellfish. The paella was great. Highly recommended if you fancy some fish by the sea.

I went several times to have dinner with friends, after a long day at the beach. It is a good place where you can eat fried fish and other kind of dishes. Price-quality is really good! service typical Spanish in a good sense

I visited this place based on the reviews here and I found very little redeeming about my experience. I expected a local dive with excellent fare - 1/2 right.

The service was indifferent at best. We were told that they often did not have paella and were told that if that's what we wanted it would be okay to leave. That should have been a sign.

We settled on the fish fritters that were little more than deep fried whole fish; not much more than a plate of bones. The garlic shrimp were okay.

Our experience here fell short of mediocre.

Weird is we haven't visited the main Lonja, the UNESCO site in the city center but we had the chance to spot this place passing all the expensive and touristic restaurants along the seaside walk from Veles i ventes.
We found out this place thanks to Lonely Planet Incontri's guide. They recommended as cheap, but we didn't expectet to be THAT good.
The place is humble, but who cares?
It's like dropping by at a fisherman house just in time for lunch (or dinner).
Our regret is not to have tried the navajas. We ordered a pair each of anchoas (anchovies) with bread and scratched tomato as starter. then a paella with fish and a mix of fried fishes.
Food was delicious and it's absolutely worthy to try once in life.

When walking into this restaurant this August the Spanish phrase “de poco mantel y bien comer” came to mind – literally translated as “simple table cloth but good food”.

I would recommend this restaurant to foreign visitors not fully conversant with the Spanish language: upon entering you are given an order from in Spanish and asked if you would like its translation. You then fill out the form at your table (see the photos posted), and flag down your or any waiter.

Now, this is a real “Spanish experience” restaurant, so at times you might feel the waiter is ignoring you, giving your little time, or the cold shoulder. Do not worry, because even the Spanish locals have the same impression: the restaurant is invariably busy and noisy, and the waiters have a large workload. “Lonja” in Spanish means a fish market and they are not known for peace and tranquillity!

Our party of four enjoyed starters, and gilthead (bream) or sea bass for the main course (a whole fish each). With wine, water and coffees, the bill worked out at EURO 27 per person – excellent value for such freshness.
