Yet again we have had a stunning meal at this lovley, intimate and eclectic restaurant. We had perfect SeaBass, and fabulous belly of pork for mains. We love this place and it's friendly staff/owners. Highly recommended!

Well what a fabulous find this un-assuming little restaurant was!! We arrived for lunch without a reservation and were greeted warmly.
The menu consisted of three starters, mains and sweets, offered at an extremely reasonable set menu price, dependent on the number of courses ordered!! Between us we managed to try all the starters!! I had the smoked haddock and butternut gratin - which was absolutely fabulous!! My daughter had the chicken piri piri salad and my son had the melon with prosciutto. All the starters went down extremely well!!
This was followed by our main courses consisting of a mixture of fish dishes ranging from sea bass to whole mackerel, all served with fresh seasonal vegetables. As expected, the mains were just as gorgeous!! Well after all that, we couldn't resist some sweets, which again were home made with fresh ingredients.
Whilst we were eating local proprietors arrived delivering fresh cheese and fish - which was good to see!!
At the end, having had our fill, we asked for the bill and couldn't believe it when it only came to £101 for the 5 of us!! What a thoroughly enjoyable lunch!!!

We have eaten here before and had such a wonderful meal that we decided to return again - in fact making a special trip covering a couple of hundred miles to do so. It is rare that we do this - so the accolade is obvious, But. oh dear, what a disappointment. Our turbot was done to perfection as we expected but the "side show" took the gloss off what should have been another immaculate evening. The "side show" - because of dietary requirements we asked that one of the accompaniments be replaced with another that was available for a different menu choice. The chef had the temerity to question the request. Saucy or what? And the replacement which was provided arrived burnt. No good. We would return but only if we were in the area. It is no longer a "destination restaurant" which is a shame as these are few and far between.

We saw Samphire on trip advisor and thought it sounded really good. We wearnt disappointed at all. Both of us had the crab for starters such was really nice. I had the lamb rack for main which was absolutely lovely. Debs had the fish stew which was also very nice. Would definitely recommend, but book to secure your place.

You could blink and miss this little gem! Samphire is a tiny little restaurant near the seafront in East Wittering, it has a wonderful charm about it. The food was fantastic, we went on "Locals Night" which is a smaller menu than their usual one with a choice of fish or meat dishes. The service was great and very personal, and to our amazement we were given a free bottle of wine because the starters had been a bit slow in coming out which really was very kind of them and not a problem because we were happily chatting to friends. This will certainly be a regular place for us as it's such a treat to find something unusual and where the staff take a pride in what they do.
