This restaurant was recommended by the owner of the B&B where we stayed in Matera, and it was good advice. Service was excellent, the food was great, and the wine recommendation at dinner was very good value. Scalopini with lemon was very good, as was sausage gypsy style. Pasta with porcini mushrooms and truffles was a treat -- the salads, vegetables, and fig gelato were all excellent.
As a side note, while we were having dinner outside a man in a wheelchair and his partner came up. It would have been very difficult to get him up the stairs to the restaurant, but in no time the owner and a waiter brought a table, chair, and everything else down to the footpath and set up a comfortable situation, with no drama or undue attention. We were very impressed with this consideration and believe it is typical of the service at this place.
