“5 Star Bed and Breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 January 2014

This was a dream that became a reality traveling to my ancestral hometown. The accommodations were excellent and it was one of the finest places I've stayed in my many trips to Italy. Without a doubt a five star B&B that I would recommend to anyone. Marco and his brother were great hosts. They can arrange for a driver, translator, reservations, etc. The location is perfect for exploring the town. The breakfast was a real treat every day and they make a great "cafe americano." By the second day, it was at my table without even ordering.

We accidentally happened upon cosenza and read about this place, we don't recommend you rock up unannounced because the brothers don't live there but we were lucky enough that Marco was in the building and kindly let us take a room at short notice. He was so lovely and helpful and attentive and a great host. Beautiful big rooms with wooden floors, comfy beds and pretty furnishings and paintings. If you are staying here or just passing through its the only place to stay I'm sure. It makes you feel like you can really rest for a night and are thinking about coming thru on the way home as it and the old town was so lovely.

This B&B was in the old town of Consenza which gave it loads of character. The room was the largest of our 9 hotels in Italy and one of the best decorated. Marco speaks wonderful English and was very helpful. There are a few steep stairs leading up to the room which, for us, just added to the ambiance. The room was clean and the breakfast good. We would definitely stay here again.

My son and had a wonderful stay at B&B Via dell'Astrologo. It was much more than we expected. We stayed in the room with twin beds and a lovely bathroom. There was a window seat where I enjoyed relaxing. The decor is gorgeous, and perfect for the building. It is in the center of the very interesting old city with some good restaurants near by. We were there on a Sunday, and so not much going on, but we were so happy to just wander the lovely neighborhood and relax in the beautiful room. It was just what we needed in the middle of our 2 week vacation.
We had to leave before the normal breakfast time, and Marco and Mario left us some pastries and yogurt to eat. I hope that we will be able to go back again some day.

If you travel to Cosenza, want a quiet room for restful sleep, and be near all the sites of Old Town, then the Bed and Breakfast Via dell’ Astrologo is a perfect choice. You will be delighted. The B&B is down a narrow side street offering 2 exceptionally clean, tastefully decorated, charming guest rooms and is lovingly cared for by 2 brothers, Mario and Marco. Mario arranged for both our transfers to and from the B&B making it so easy to settle in to enjoy the area. His gracious reception and attentiveness, enthusiasm and recommendations for Cosenza, delicious breakfast with fruit, yogurt, breads, jams and Italian coffee are true treasures. They have created a unique restful haven for their guests.

This gem hidden in 'old' Cosenza is tucked away, slowed down, very authentic Medieval housing. Once inside, it is a true delight. Well preserved woodwork, ceiling beams are breathtaking. At the same time, very comfortably appointed with very nice bathrooms (we used both of the rooms for our family of 5), beautiful china, and artwork. Very nicely decorated and you feel 'at home' right away. The breakfasts we had were wonderful, and Mario was very helpful with maps, directions, translations. The walk to 'new' Cosenza is a nice stroll. Wi-fi worked great. It is a little hard to find; you may want to ask Marco and Mario for good directions. We were very please with this property.

Room Tip: There are only two rooms and both are equally nice. Very small window in each that looks out onto t...

My husband and I spent two nights here. It is run by two brothers who do not live in the flat. There are two suites each with private bath The breakfast they provide is lovely. The rooms were clean and very comfortable and the location, in old town was very central. We would stay here again.
