We stayed here in August 2014 for a week as a family of 4, two daughters 14 and 10. The youngest enjoyed the pool, the eldest enjoyed the wifi, we the parents enjoyed the tranquility. The room was lovely, we stayed on the ground floor. The main bed was segregated from a sofa bed, dining table and kitchen by a breakfast bar. There was plent of storage space. There was one bathroom which had a nice power shower. There was also a washing machine in there. The kitchen was well facilitated. There was an iron but no board, and a large fridge/freezer. The room kept lovely and cool without the windows being opened or having to have the air con on. And only on occasion did we need a blast from the air con. On the final couple of nights the girls found the sofa bed very uncomfortable, and we had them in our bed. I had to change the sleeping alignment which helped. I should have mentioned this to the staff who were very approachable and helpful, but I didn't.
There didn't appear to be a dedicated outside table for the apartment like some others, however we never had a problem sitting around a table to have a spot of lunch. The pool is well designed for the space and large enough for children to play in, a bit small for lengths. The area around the pool was OK, it was grassed, and when full couldn't accomodate everyone if they wanted to sunbathe. The sun shone on the area from around 10 am to 5pm.
The location of the apartments was good. Far enough away for us from the hoards. Amalfi isn't so big that it takes long to walk to the Duormo or port. And it's such a nice walk, especially at night through the small corridors, like secret passages housing tavernas and pizzarias. For the walkers amongst us it's at the start of the walk up the west hills and the walk to Pontone-to-Scala-to-Ravello. Don't let them tell you that these are easy walks, they are climbs! Albeit lovely views.
All-in-all this was our first main suaree into Italy and we fell in love with the place. The people and places are beautiful, and the passion and sheer enthusiasm was infectious.
