Description: Only a few steps away from the cathedral, hidden in the alleyways of Amalfi in one of the most ancient and peaceful squares of the town, is the Taverna Buonvicino. In the authentic tradition of the Amalfi Coast, our guests will enjoy an a la carte menu and a food and wine tasting menu, strictly serving only products in season, to give them a taste of the places and culture of our territory. Our food is not ready made, but the shoert wait respects the sincerity of preparation and cooking times, far from today's much and ready's culture. For those who want to discover the Hidden Amalfi we suggest a journey that starts at the table and leads towards the colours and tastes of our territory where you can discover new places of belonging. Finally, a hidden corner to propose to those guests of ours who love small surprises. We look forward to seeing you here in this hidden corner because 'The true taste of Amalfi is hidden in the alleyways'

“A hidden gem”
Reviewed 10 May 2014 via mobile

Just returned from a wonderful dinner at Taverna Buonvicino. The restaurant is located in a quiet square (thankfully) off of the main street in Amalfi. It's just a few minutes walk from the center of town near the Duomo and there is a sign pointing the way. The outdoor square looks like it could be a movie set and the the team couldn't be more engaging and welcoming.

Everything we had was excellent. We had the baccala and minestrone soup as starters and spaghetti with clams and the whole grilled fish for entrees. Both entrees had great flavor and the seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked.

I thought the prices were very reasonable for Amalfi and I'm confused about the four dollar signs in the listing - I would have thought three would have been more appropriate.

Overall, a great meal. I would highly recommend giving them a try.

“Our favorite restaurant in Italy!”
Reviewed 3 May 2014 via mobile

Hands down our best meal in Italy, and we went to some fancy and great places. This place had incredible service. I ate crostinis with cheese and onion, and them the carbonara, every bite was heaven. My bf had the mixed salad and the mussel spaghetti. Soooo yummy. Everything we chose was from the daily specials menu, so we were extremely pleased!

“The gem of Amalfi”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

Since we came here with close friends who it was there first trip to Amalfi, and other close friends who are local to the area, we definitely wanted to give all of them a fabulous impression. Well this did the trick. Buonvicino has the perfect location of being a two minute walk from the main piazza, well still being on a charming side street across from a gorgeous church. As for the atmosphere, our waiter who we had last time greeted us with the typical warmth and sincerity of Southern Italy, as if we were his long lost cousin. Finally, the food is incredibly fresh, (the fish is give or take 200 meters from its home), and has something for everyone from the homemade asparagus ravioli to the soup with cuttlefish and fagioli. I'm sure all of us are counting the days until we return!

“This is THE PLACE to enjoy Italian food and dolce vita”
Reviewed 14 April 2014 via mobile

The restaurant is located on a tiny square behind the main street of Amalfi. We had the best food here throughout our entire stay. Fresh and quality ingredients. Lovely taste combinations, eg mozzarella with lemon oil and nuts, almond cake with 3 sauces: caramel, citrus marmalade and red wine sauce. Excellent! And the service is impeccable. We will return :-)
