“Great hotel”
Reviewed 16 July 2011

We enjoyed a week at the Aurora, lovely views over the harbour, excellent helpful staff, spotlessly clean and comfortable simple hotel in a great location. Agree that some fresh fruit and a little variety at breakfast would be nice but otherwise you really can't ask for more here.Book it now !!

my girlfriend and i stayed here for three nights and loved it. it is a little pricy but what you pay for is worth it all. great location which makes it a easy to access the heart of amalfi within minutes, right down the street from bus station whcih was great when we did "path of the gods" hike...... highly recommend this walk, absoluting made our trip in amalfi coast, and other than location the service was great. the staff was extreamly welcoming and helpful. they were always kind approachable. the owner hosted a little happy hour with drinks and gave us a chance to meet her which made us felt at home. everything was simple and perfect. i wouldnt have it any other way. if you stay i recommend spending the extra $ to get a room with a large patio. you will see what i mean when you do so.

We had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed our terrace with great sea view. All staff were extremely helpful. Great location and very good value for money. It was also exceptionally clean and we loved our breakfast in the pretty garden. Sunbathing and swimming from the private beach were most enjoyable. We would love to visit Amalfi again and stay in the Aurora.

The Hotel is in a perfect situation close to boats and buses. The terrace for breakfast is delightful. The staff could not be more helpful and attentive. If one was searching for a negative comment -a more varied breakfast with fresh fruit would be good. It is a great pleasure to sit on one's balcony and admire the view and watch the world go by.

Had 4 nights stay end of May for my Husbands 50th and this little hotel did not dissapoint. Had booked an oceanview room which was just spectacular. Wish we knew that there is "superior" rooms which we thought we had booked as thought we would get the big balcony but our little balcony was just fine. Gorgeous to get up in the morning to open the doors+ shutters to find a beautiful Marina and views along to Amalfi. Room is basic but beautifully clean which is the main thing. Staff were excellent especially Andrew who would chat at breakfast on the terrace with that magnificent view. No pool but the beach(pebbles) is right at your door step and it was being renovated whilst we were there. Took 4 minutes to walk along the boardwalk to get into town but this was a pleasant walk and it was nice to come back to the quietness of the hotel. Smallish hotel which was nice too a plus Linen and towels were lovely and fresh clean as well. Really enjoyed our stay here and wont forget that gorgeous view. No restaurant at night but plenty in Amalfi.

Searched to locate an Amalfi hotel that balanced location, cost and comfort for our second trip to the area. Hotel Aurora exceeded our hopes with room 28 having a terrace with spectacular view to central Amalfi. Loved using the "downstairs" beach and had one of our best ever meals in Italy just across the street overlooking the harbor. Have no hesitation recommending and hope to be back. Just a shame that Amalfi is so challenging to reach - but guess that makes it special.

Room Tip: Get a Terrace - more than worth it

Our stay at the Hotel Aurora was fantastic. The location is extremely easy to get to from the dock, we took a ferry from Salerno to Amalfi. The staff were wonderful, the room with the balcony overlooking the sea was amazing!! The terrace where breakfast was served, again, amazing. Can't say enough great things about this Hotel! We booked one of the services the Hotel offers, a massage, we highly recommend it, Rosario was great! Thank you Hotel Aurora!

Room Tip: We had room 29, loved it! Great view yet private!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Aurora Hotel is the perfect spot to spend an unforgettable holiday in Amalfi.Located nearby the Amalfi Marina, the hotel is only 500 meters from the hustle and bustle of Piazza Duomo. It is the ideal accommodation for visiting the Amalfi Coast and its picturesque villages, such as Ravello, Positano, Capri and even the Pompeii Excavation, which are all within easy reach. The bus station and the wharf are only 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel. After a long day-trip, Aurora Hotel is just a short walk to downtown and the beach, and it is accessible without climbing stairs. One final recommendation from the hotel management: if you want to spend a few relaxing days in Amalfi, please check Aurora Hotel location on Google Maps and compare it with other hotels. Most of Amalfi hotels are located in the noisy old Town, accessible by climbing long stairs; some others are located on the highway to Positano, so you will need to take the bus, a taxi or your car in order to reach the city, driving down one of the busiest roads in Italy! ... more   less
