We were in Amalfi for 4 days and each day I looked at this beautiful church. Finally on our last day I decided I would walk up the steps to check it out. What a beautiful surprise, it rivaled the churches in Rome and Florence, with wonderful frescoes, sculptures and paintings. To enter the church is free, my only regret was not going in sooner and paying to visit the other parts of the church grounds and the crypt. I'll do that the next time.

Gorgeous cathedral...well worth a visit just to see the Baroque frescoes in the interior of the main cathedral...but do visit the "cloister of Paradise" and the Basilica (museum), and the crypt of St. Andrew as well.

There was more to see here than I thought. There are some beautiful paintings and ceilings if you like that kind of thing. Worth a visit if you've not visited an Italian church or you're just killing time. Ultimately - seen one - seen them all!

Many steps lead to this magnificent building. Dominating the main plaza was worth the visit and the sit to appreciate it.

Away from the lemons and coast stands this highly impressive architectural feat.
It dominates one of the main piazzas of Amalfi and the top of it can be seen from the coastline.
Though we did not venture inside, the exterior architecture is impressive enough.
Definitely stop there for a photo at the very least!
