“Great Value - Great Food and an Amazing location”
Reviewed 4 August 2011

Amalfi was absolutely beautiful and the Hotel Amalfi is right in the heart of the city. The room is spacious for Italy and the value is incredible including a great breakfast on the roof of the hotel. We didn't have dinner their but it looked like it would be terrific also.

We only stayed one night and now wish it had been more. Great

Very good memories of the hotel and would stay again if in the area. Staff was very polite and helpful. Hotel is located in the centre of Amalfi (few minutes walk from bus stop and ferry. Continental breakfast had all the basics.
Overall we were very pleased.

In a great spot in town, perfect for access to the beach/shops/restaurants etc. Hotel was very clean, rooms had plenty of space, great air con, good showers. Breakfast was good too - made even better with the outside terrace that you can sit on. There is also a garden that you can sit in, perfect for early evening drinks!
A great stay.

I liked this hotel. Quiet at night, very clean and the staff were lovely.
Five minutes walk through a few narrow alleyways to shops, restaurants, the beach and local transport.

My room was good, tv,balcony and walk in shower. No kettle or fridge though.

Breakfast was continental.

Room Tip: My room was on the 1st floor with a balcony which overlooked a residents roof garden and an alley wa...

We stayed here in the belief that paying more than 100 euros would get us something a bit special...ha ha! I should have known that Amalfi is prohibitively expensive and not the place for people on a budget. The twin room we got (and others we peeked into when the maids were cleaning) was very basic and ordinary! They are calling this place a 3-star when really it feels like a small, basic B and B with 1 star. The staff were incredibly rude and suspicious of everything. The women "on duty" huddled together in the nearby office and would only come out to help with a great deal of huffing and puffing. They really made us feel unwelcome, a hindrance to whatever gossip they were enjoying. Amalfi and especially this hotel made it obvious that if you don't have big bucks to spend they just don't have time (or charm) for you.

Overall a lovely hotel with a private beach which a big plus in the area as there are not many beaches generally! Rooms were quite basic but had a lovely view and were clean. Not sure I would class as 5 star? Only one small towel each and one flat pillow! Breakfast was disappointing but ok. Easy reach of Amalfi although parking can be difficult. A couple of good restaurants in walking distance aswell though which was good. A good overall choice though if you are visiting Amalfi and probably one of the best hotels.

A lot of hotels claiming to be in Amalfi actually aren't, and turn out to be several miles away. This one however is slap bang in the middle of town, tucked away off the main street - less than 5 minutes walk to the sea, and close to lots of shops and restaurants. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful and speak excellent English. Room was of a good standard for 3* - very clean and tidy with a well-equipped bathroom. Breakfast was excellent, served on a terrace at the top of the hotel with great views.

One downside was quite a lot of noise from the street, waking us up occasionally. A recurring sound was what sounded like someone dragging a body in a sack down some steps. Given that it happened several nights over it may have been something else (or Amalfi's a less safe place than we'd bargained on!). You can expect a bit of noise in that sort of location though, and it wouldn't put us off going back
