Our double room had a good sized balcony with table and chairs. Views from here were divine! Room a reasonable size with an older style bathroom. Shower cubicle is very small and would not fit anyone more substantial in size. Doors of shower cumbersome to close. Room, bed and bathroom very clean. Breakfast buffet was delicious and the best we had during four weeks in Italy. It included beautiful fresh bread rolls and home made cakes and tarts. Superb views from breakfast room. Main down side to this accomodation is there was no shuttle service into town. The distance is not the problem as it was only a 12 minute walk however the road down to town is very dangerous with no pedestrian pathway for most of the way. It is a narrow road with large buses passing also. Do not walk with children or at night. Taxi from town to Il Nido was 15 euro without luggage and 20 euro with luggage. The public bus to Sorrento and Pogerola passes by the front of hotel which is only a 2 euro fare but they only seemed to run every hour and were full to the brim. Would I stay here again? Yes I think that beautiful breakfast would win out over the dangerous road!!

The room, bathroom and terrace were all spacious and the decor was simple and clean.
The view is amazing, there is just a road between the hotel and that blue sea! The continental breakfast was varied and the coffee was delicious. On our third morning we found out they also did omelettes or scrambled eggs, we hadn't been offered this as an option but heard another tables being offered the choice - so we asked and had omelettes too.
The hotel is a good 15 minute walk uphill from the town centre (we are quite fast walkers so could be 20 mins or more for some). We felt that four nights was about our limit of doing this twice a day.

We didn't have a drying rack on the terrace, which would have been handy, we dried our beach towels and swimming costumes across the chairs instead.

The fridge in our room wasn't working. We didn't complain about it as we didn't really need it but I was surprised that housekeeping didn't notice and report it so that it could be fixed.

The hotel is very close to the city and has private parking . There are still many stairs to climb but then at the Amalfi you climb stairs all day long .
The bed is hard as rocks so if you don't like a plushy bed then it's great. I like the fluff so I did not enjoy the rock solid bed.
The view and the huge balcony made up for it.

I stayed there with my family for seven nights in a spacious, clean and clear room with a big terrace that seemed to overhang the cliff with fabulous views of the Amalfi coast. Set out with table, chairs, sofa, it was a perfect place to have a private happy hour enjoying the view and the come and go of boats and yachts! There're two small but convenient parking lots one in the building and another across the street. The continental breakfast was good and it’s served in a room with a spectacular view of the sea. The hotel is a short walk into Amalfi (1 km) but be careful, it’s a very narrow and busy road with no pedestrian side walk! The staff was very kind. A special thanks to Mr. Mike who was very helpful and welcoming. It was an excellent choice!

We stayed here last week. Our room was great and the balcony was beautiful! It was large and had a great view. Breakfast was great, and the woman who served breakfast daily was so nice! Our only complaint was about the service we received from reception. The men were not very friendly and we felt like more of an inconvenience than paying customers. The worst experience was the morning we were leaving. Breakfast starts at 7:30 AM, but we had to leave at 7 AM. Because of this (and the fact that we had paid for breakfast), we had asked the man at reception the night before if we could take some food to go in the morning. He said yes. That morning when we were leaving, we saw that breakfast was already set up. There was yogurt, fruit, etc. My fiancé and I asked the man working at reception in the morning (a different man than the previous night) if we could take some fruit and yogurt to go. He immediately raised his voice at us and started complaining. We informed him that the other man the night before told us we could take something. To this, he continued yelling at us and saying no! My fiancé and I were very confused. We have stayed at many hotels in the past and have never had a problem like this when leaving prior to breakfast. In fact, other hotels often offer a to-go breakfast package to their paying guests who have to check out earlier. Eventually, the man finally rudely waved us off and indicated that we could take something with us. It was a very strange experience and we did not appreciate being yelled at in the morning.

Overall, the hotel has great facilities, breakfast, location, and views, but their reception service needs improvement.
