This is one of the most beautiful and unique gardens I've ever visited. It has great panoramic views of the sea. Located high up on a hill in Centro Storico, it is a series of ancient terraced gardens. The plants all have medicinal and healing properties. Very interesting and a fun visit. Plus, lots of cute kitty cats lolling about the quiet gardens.

I had Heard quite a lot of Giardino della Minerva, a garden with Medical plats and was very disappointed to find that it was not much to see. The signs beside the plants only showed the name of the plant and not what it was used for and sadly enough the plantations what not very beautiful.

Got the public lift up the hill from via Portacatena, then a short walk up to the Gardens planted over 5 levels on the hills above Salerno. Peaceful, atmospheric, ingeniously designed, and well worth the visit. Small museum explains the medical background to the choices of plants.

A ten minute uphill walk from the seafront and entrance fee 3 Euros.
The gardens are set over several levels reached by sets of steps. There are vine covered walkways and places in the shade to sit and admire the gardens and view. There is also a small cafe area to sit and have drinks. Well worth a visit. There is also a lift from lower streets but it is a a slightly scruffy rundown area.

The last thing we wanted to se was this Minerva garden. Real nice, beautiful and relaxing place to bee, and it gives you an splendid view over the ocean. Don’t miss this garden whit medical herbs.

This is not your average garden, the plants are all herbs and of a medicinal type ehjich makes for a very interesting visit. They are well laid out and each labeled with their name and some information. It was quite easy to get there as well signed in the streets. As its built on about 5 levels, it might be challenging for less fit people but taken slowly, it shouldn't be a problem. Whilst not a must to visit., fills in a morning or afternoon nicely. Very pleasant resting in the cafe with a limoncello and biscotes and reasonably priced too.

This garden is a beautiful gem in the heart of the old city. It is difficult to get to and I wouldn’t recommend it for people that have trouble with stairs or walking. But the views of the sea and city aren’t than worth the sweat. There is also a little cafe that looks out over the city and sea, which I wish I had time to enjoy. I might go back before I leave!

Entrance is only 3 euro with a discount to 1.50 for students.

Levels of beautiful gardens, ancient medicinal plants topped off with a fabulous view of Salerno and the coast. There is a cafe but in late May when we visited it was not open. There were only three other people in the gardens during our visit. Recommend
