We've been in the hotel for five days. The hotel is very well located, just a few blocks from the centre. The room and the bath was very big, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good, with homemade pastries. I strongly recommend this place to anyone willing to visit the Amalfi coast.

A great value! It's called a hostel but nothing about it makes you think of a hostel, it's a nice, clean, modern hotel. The room was large and had it's own private large bathroom. Everything seemed new, modern and clean. A very pleasant surprise. And it's an easy walk into town. I highly recommend it.

We are budget travelers and this hostel(I would call it a hotel) was a great price, we were amazed at the big and beautifully furnished room with a great bathroom, nothing like a hostel! Centre of town, very quiet, front desk were really obliging and extremely helpful with bus timetables, info etc. Highly recommend this place.

We are three friends stopping in a triple room when visiting Sorrento for the first time to attend a wedding. We were on a budget and were looking for a hotel that would offer good value for money, be fairly central, and had good reviews from previous travellers. It's called a Hostel but don't let that put you off - some of the building is given over to bigger dormitories but there were also normal hotel bedrooms - doubles, triples and family rooms and so on. Our room was immaculately clean with a nice sized bathroom. We had air conditioning, the furniture was good quality, had a flatscreen tv and a safe. Breakfast was included in our rate but I think it cost 5 euros if you wanted to pay separately - typical continental - bread rolls, jams, ham, cheese plus cereals, fruit juice and coffee all buffet style. Other hostel visitors looked like typical hotel guests to me - lots of couples, young and old, some families and so on. Our biggest fear was that the hotel would be noisy given its hostel name. It wasn't at all. We all slept very well. It's ideally placed for the Sorrento nightlife, literally 5 mins walk from the nearest bars, yet on a very quiet side street. Perfect. Our only regret is that we didn't have time to try out the pool (which would have cost another 5 euros each, but we didn't have time) nor the wellness centre - there was a leaflet in the room saying that we could have tried out the hydrotherapy spa for 25 euros - again a bargain. Maybe next time.....

If you are looking for a nice play to stay with great value for money I think Ulisse is the best place for you. It is definitely not your traditional hostel - chalk boards, 1 Euro Beers etc. Marble floors, quite a corporaty feel and our double room with ensuite was like a 4 Star Hotel. A good breakie is also available for 5 Euros per person. There is a relaxed feel to it and lots of lovely comfy sofas to relax on in the evening where we watched the World Cup. You can buy drinks at the bar too. This is a great location and easy to get into the centre in a couple of minutes walk.

There isn't a Hostel feel to it though and if that is what you want this place isn't for you. The reception area where suits and don't put themselves out for you like you may get in a hostel. I was also missing the Air- Con and found it very noisy in the night and early morning. This however is my only complaint and it wasn't enough to ruin the holiday.

I would recommend the Spa downstairs- amazingly relaxing and not to expensive.

Walk to the train station in 15 minutes (no bags) 20-25 mins (with suitcases/bags)
