As others have mentioned, the apartment is well situated near the heart of Sorrento's touristic center and train station. Lots of walking; but quite enjoyable, with many beautiful sites nearby. We were five; the apartment fit us perfectly. Our stay began a bit questionably. We couldn't reach anyone on the phone number provided. After many tries, someone did answer; told us the owner was out of town; and provided another number for us to call. It was Frederica's; and she was our salvation. She soon arrived, showed us into the apartment, solved a sticky parking problem, and generally made us very much at home. Had it not been for her, this review would read quite differently. Someone already warned: don't expect the offered garage to accommodate a large vehicle. Ours (a 9-passenger van) didn't fit. Luckily, Frederica had a friend at a nearby hotel who arranged parking there, at an additional fee. Some tips about the apartment: be careful how you use hot water. I've lived in Italy; so this is not new--hot water tanks are relatively small and slow to recover. It's not a hotel, where one expects never ending hot water. As for food availability: there are a number of convenience stores along the way walking towards the center of town; and a very plentiful supermarket located as one walks from the area of the train station towards Piazza Tasso.
There is around a 15 minute walk to the main Piazza Tasso where you will find a hive of activity with lots of places to eat, shops and visitor attractions including spectacular views around the bay. We also went on several trips which were well organised and enabled us to see more of the beautiful surrounding area - our pick up point was in a central bus stop which was a 12 minute walk away.
On arrival we were met by a very friendly and helpful housekeeper and the apartment was very clean and tidy for us. Unfortunately not all the amenities listed were available i.e. a kettle, toaster and microwave and it took 4 days for the kettle and toaster to arrive.
Overall we enjoyed Sorrento, what it has to offer and would be happy to return. However the apartment was disappointing.
We - a family group of four - stayed at Sorrento Moon for a week in early May. The apartment is well furnished, airy and peaceful. The area is very peaceful, despite the fact that it is situated only a few yards away from the incredibly busy main thoroughfare. The apartment is in a gated apartment complex and has a private car park. The parking is tight, so I'd advise against bringing a big car. A big car is also a challenge to drive around in Sorrento and surroundings, since roads are narrow and curvy - and the traffic is not for the faint hearted!
We were well received and checked in by the very welcoming and helpful housekeeper, who also helped us with practical details during our stay.
The communication with the owner - both prior to our arrival and during our stay - was entirely professional, and I can only recommend Sorrento Moon as a very good choice for a stay in Sorrento.
