We are in our 60s so after reading some of the reviews of the hotel eden we were a bit apprehensive!!! We were so relieved as the hotel was clean with friendly staff and the location was PERFECT 5 mins level walk into the town center. Luigi on the desk was very helpful so any problems he will sort it out nothing is too much trouble for him. The meals were a bit repetitive but they were adequate and maybe a little more imagination on the food could be made in the future. For us the hotel was perfect for what we wanted, quiet hotel and yet so near to the heart of Sorrento. Thankyou hotel Eden for a great week and we would return to your hotel again and would recommend it to our friends.

Room Tip: high room with balcony we had room 404 comfortable and quiet

We arrived on a hot Monday afternoon. Our room was ready at 12pm. It was a standard room. Clean with air con. We had a lovely big shower.
Hotel has pleasant gardens and a pool big enough for a dip to cool off.
They have a guy that comes round and serves you drinks by the pool.
Also there is a restaurant attached to the hotel. Lovely pasta and great pizzas.
Only had bed and breakfast. Breakfast is tea, coffee, juice. Hot croissants. Meat and cheese, toast and eggs. Not too bad really.
We got the Cerruri bus from the airport only cost 10 euros each. Great value, cheaper than a car.
Oh yeah talking of cars. Anyone thinking of hiring one. DON'T. The Italian drivers are nuts.

The hotel is 2 mins walk from the main square and back from the street so it's quiet enough to get a decent sleep.

We went to Pompeii on the train. The Circumventia. It only costs 4.2 euros return and is really easy.
Been on lots of holidays but never really used local transport before but was pleasantly surprised how easy it was.

On our last night we went to a little restaurant called "taverna 'dell 800" down a little side street.
We sat outside and had a wonderful meal. Both service and food were outstanding.
Do check it out.

In July 2012 my friend and I (two ladies in our 60's but young at heart!) stayed at the Hotel Eden. We found the hotel to be just what we wanted - it was clean, staff were friendly, the room was excellent with a lovely view of the garden and pool. The location was perfect - just a short walk via the 'secret passage' at the back of the hotel which led us to the main Piazzo Tasso where all the action is. The bus station and train station was 5 minutes walk to the left. Everyone was so helpful and just to sit at a cafe enjoying a drink in the wonderful atmosphere and watching the world go by was sheer enjoyment. We found the hotel room to be perfectly adequate - the beds were comfortable, towels changed regularly and room cleaned. The Hotel had obviously had a refurb recently which was good but it still retained its charm. The garden area was very well maintained and a pleasure to sit in, especially in a shaded area when the sun was at its peak. The pool was just large enough and kept extremely clean. Drinks are served to you when requested so everything perfect. If we found any criticism it was that the menu was rather repetitive - it took us a long time to face scrambled eggs again! However, there is quite a good choice but again, pasta is on the menu every evening and surely fresh fruit salad could have been served instead of tinned fruit cocktail. Desserts were not very imaginative - 3 rings of tinned pineapple was rather poor. However, saying that, we did enjoy the food but did find it odd that you were not allowed to take a drink in to the restaurant if purchased from the hotel. Obviously the set up is different. Sorrento is stunning, - do not miss on a cruise around the coastline. We took the bus to places like Positano and Ravello and then came back on the boat. Another must is to see the Sorrento Musical but make sure you book for the evening meal to be included as it was the best meal we had during the fortnight. All in all, a very memorable and enjoyable holiday and we would certainly recommend Hotel Eden for its size, location and cleanliness.

the hotel is only 5 mins walk from the station(but anything in the old town would onyl be about 10 mins) and is pleasant enought but at 200 euros per night it was far from good value. the beds was rock hard (others we talked to said the same, and we were in the new rennoveted bit too and when we complained were told the bed was new. However to be fair they changed the mattress - which was better but onyl just. The rooms have no sound insulation so we could hear toilets flushing and chaires scraping. The (self serve) breakfast was v ordinary, usual choice of 3 cereals, 2 fresh fruits (appels and oranges) tinned fruit, plain yoghourts, machine coffee, slices of processed cheese and ham and rolls. The pool is small and v little space around it to sit. There is a v small and pleasant garden to sit in-but like the pool there seemed to be alot of flys around. if this had cost say 130 euros max, i might feel it was ok but at 200 it felt expensive. apparently they were full though so clearly this is what you have to pay in Sorrento. I personnaly couldnt recommend it becasue of the rock hard beds and noisy rooms

Room Tip: try and get in the rennovated part-which still is not ideal

Great position just off main square. Small, friendly hotel that is obviously half way through being updated. Bathrooms have been updated and are lovely but bedrooms are in need if updating. Very clean and tidy though. Breakfast distinctly average but edible. Pool waiter was superb nothing was too much trouble and always seemed to around to get more drinks and snacks. Pool area is very clean and tidy. But quite shaded by trees and buildings therefore choose your deck chair position carefully!!!

good base for Sorrento centre, close to railway and bus stations for trips to Naples, Pompeii, Amalfi etc.
very clean refurbished basic rooms, we had one with a tiny balcony viewing into the trees that hid the sea view, and good view of lovely pools of adjacent hotel. Our other room looked through tiny window at battered side of the building next door.
Very cold air con, controls didn,t work - freezing in bed in boiling italy! No guide/instructions for hotel facilities. No directions to the tiny but very deep pool - dangerous for poor swimmers. Nice garden.
Poor little hotel bar with no views.
Canteen-harsh feel to the restaurant - not comfortable.

Very limited boring breakfast choice, same bland stuff every day.

Evening meals had to be picked from a very limited menu sheet the day before. Italian stuff such as pasta and pizza was fine, but anything with meat was poor. Very basic choice of chips or tinned vegetables to be picked from the couple of plates that made up the "buffet".

Puddings - no choice, you got whatever they gave you - frozen cup of icecream, 2 (only 2) profiteroles, 2 slices of frozen water melon, 2 slices of tinned pineapple etc.

Overall the food was very basic, and in pretty stingy portions - not what you want from a holiday. One nice waiter, others were sullen.

TV - only one channel - CNN all the time. No control of volume.
Sea view - only if you are on the higher floors.

Enough negatives to outweigh the excellent location when considering whether to go back.

Room Tip: upper floor room with balcony towards sea ONLY. Don't bother with half board here.

Beautiful hotel, very elegant, with lots of trees, lemons.
I have been in April, it was already hot is was fine.
Has a great location, because it is 5 steps from the center of Sorrento.
The rooms are clean, spacious is spacious, with balcony.
Breakfast is the meal are quite abundant.
Around the hotel, there are a lot of small shops.
