“Don't waste money on this”

Arrogant staff, tasteless food, tourist trap. Avoid this place. They rush you to finish, and the whole experience was unpleasant

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed 4 June 2014 via mobile

We passed this restaurant a number of times and chosen not to go in, for no particular reason. We finally settled on it, drawn in by the Sardines Special of the day (which came with a salad) which my husband chose. I had a plain grilled chicken breast and we shared a portion of French fries and an excellent selection of grilled vegetables. I really can't fault it, it was very good indeed. There seemed to be a large number of waiting staff who unobtrusively removed dishes when they were finished with, but I didn't feel rushed or that they were trying to push us through to get another party in, it was very relaxed. There was a chap playing music inside, which was far enough away to be entertaining without overwhelming the conversation, and there wasn't the sinking feeling you get with the itinerant buskers that you were going to have to interrupt your meal to root around for something to throw in the hat. We were so chuffed with our meal and the general ambience that we decided to go back the next evening. Disappointingly it was shut! It was a Tuesday and it did seem to be generally quieter although this was the only place that was closed. Don't know if this is the norm or not.

“Best lunch in Sorrento”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

While on a cruise in Sorrento, we had the lunch special here. Lunch consisted of a coal fired pizza (12 inches), delicious salad to share. It was as big as a large dinner plate and a can of Coke for $10 Euro. I bought a small bottle of mineral water for $1.50 Euro but didn't have to... The Coke split would have been enough. Great food, wonderful service and super clean restrooms! Couldn't as for more!

“Average In Every Way”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

This restaurant typifies the nondescript tourist trap restaurants of Sorrento. A cheap meal with cheap drinks that doesn't offer impresssive service but gets you in and out quickly and efficiently. The pizza was far from the best, the lasagna was ok, but given that the whole meal cost about €20 this was perhaps to be expected. There are other budget restaurants in Sorrento that are far better, but this remains a reasonable option.

“A warm place on a cool evening”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

I also fail to understand the poor reviews of this restaurant. We entered on a cool evening in early May and were lucky to find a table.Service was quick, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming.I agree the Maitre'd probably holds all together here. The owner walks thru with a grouchy face , and then walks thru the restaurant opposite which he might own as well.
Our Ravioli (one ricotta, one beef) was excellent washed down with local Aglianico red wine.
Bread , 2 mains, 3 wines for 34.50.
We enjoyed it so much we returned the following night for an excellent steak and salad.
Undoubtedly some people were badly treated here, but not us.Can definitely recommend.
