“A little gem”

We were pleasantly surprised at this little beauty. The decor was very retro, but very refreshing. It was so clean and new. We were lucky enough to have a room with a two seater lounge in it!! That was unbelievable for a property in Italy. The location for us was perfect, so close to all the shops, restaurants, wharf and transport for sight seeing. If you could find a fault with this accommodation, I would be flabbergasted!!

We stayed for a week on our visit to Sorrento at the beginning of June. Things didn't get off to a very good start when we arrived and were told that they had overbooked/had plumbing trouble and there was no room for us! We were therefore sent ten minutes down the road to another hotel for the first night of our stay. The next day after 2pm we were finally able to get into our room, which was just behind reception. The room itself was lovely and had everything we needed including a fridge. Breakfast was fairly simple but very nice. It could be a little noisy being close to reception during the day but was very quiet at night.
The staff were very friendly and helpul. They gave great advice about getting around the place and back to the airport at the end of our week.
Overall this was a lovely little hotel which offers great value for money given the expensive location and I would recommend this place assuming that the overbooking incident was not repeated.

Room Tip: Request a room away from reception if possible

What a great little spot! We almost didn't go with this hotel, our travel agent recommended it, because of the modern look. And of course, our room was prettttttty far out there....it was on the Pop Floor and was all orange. BUT once I got over that, and the plastic furniture, lamps, etc, this was a HUGE room! We went to four cities, staying in 4 hotels (3 were three stars, 1 was four), this was by far the largest. We even had a balcony overlooking the main street. With the balcony door shut and the shades closed and drapes drawn, it became nice and dark and quiet...perfect for a nice nights sleep. The reception girls were very friendly and very helpful...even making dinner reservations for us. There was a computer in the lobby area that I used to check email. Never made it to breakfast as we were out of the hotel for tours prior to 8am. The only drawback is the lack of 24 hour reception. My parents tried to call from the US a few times but couldn't get through to our room since the reception area was closed. Other than that, and it's minor, the hotel was great. You walk out the door and you're in the main square in literally a minute. Perfect!

We stayed in the Annex of Palazzo Abagnale (a couple of doors down from the hotel) for 2 nights on our honeymoon as a base for exploring the Amalfi Coast. Although the room is nicely designed, spacious, and clean, the lighting is poor, we hardly slept due to the loud noise throughout the night from the street below (luckily we had earplugs!) and struggled to carry our suitcases up the narrow stairway as there were no elevators in the building. If you're looking for good quality sleep, I would not recommend staying here.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for choosing our depandance in Palazzo Abagnale to spend your honeymoon.
Once again congratulations!
As regards your complaint about the quality of your sleep we are sorry if you find the room noisy, but usually if you close the windows you can sleep without problem. Anyway, we are located in the centre of Sorrento on the main street, so it is normal that a room with a balcony on that street could be a little bit noisy.

We will keep your words as a suggestion to improve the sleep quality of the room.
All the best,

Valentina Cioffi

After checking on a number of possibilities we decided to stay at the Palazzo Abagnale. Well ... what a good choice that was!! Fantastic from start to finish. Helpful, friendly staff in all areas (from happy breakfasts to smiling receptionists). Lovely rooms (we were in 204) with super-comfortable beds in boutique style settings. The Abagnale is excellently placed in the centre of Sorrento (2 minutes from bus and train station) giving you immediate access to a multitude of bars and eateries. I recommend the Palazzo Abagnale to anyone looking to stay in an excellent place. Thank you to all working there.

Room Tip: ALL rooms are excellent and individual

We stayed at the Palazzo Abagnale for 3 nights just recently, and what a gem it was!
I very very surprised at how close to the piazza tasso it was, just 30 meters away.
The rooms are modern, clean and had a very funky theme.
It was clean and the staff were very friendly. I knew we were booking apartments, but didn't realise it was a B & B style - which we welcomed as it did feel very welcoming.
Overall a great stay and great location and price for the centre of town.
The only point they lost is for no elevator from the entrance to the foyer- which was Ok for us as we are a young couple - but others may have difficulty getting luggage up the stairs. There is an internal lift though once you are inside. free internet was great
I would stay again if going to Sorrento.

Room Tip: Get one facing the street

Annex room/suite was half a mile away from the actual hotel, very inconvenient. However, the location proved to be pretty good, away from all the noise and crowd.
