“The Villa of our Dreams!”
Reviewed 2 August 2011

First of all, to say this villa is truly perfect is not doing it enough justice! Even before we arrived, we had constant contact with Anastasia who helped us with everything from directions to hooking us up with the Foreigner's Club for our rehearsal dinner! They even gave us an amazing deal since Anastasia is their friend. And it is LITERALLY across the street (but you can't hear any of the noise at night which is wonderful).

We were greeted upon arrival by Anastasia and her mother who were waiting their with limoncello, italian cookies and champagne! Such a wonderful greeting after a long night of flying. Anastasia showed us around the gorgeous villa and we were even more pleasantly surprised! The rooms were nice and cool, big closets and each had their own bathroom. There was even an elevator so you don't have to walk up stairs if you don't want. The views were breathtaking and the yard and outdoor seating area became our favorite places!

I was married in Sorrento so we had family and friends staying everywhere but the villa's location and large outdoor seating was a great meetup spot for everyone as we left for our various tours and dinners. I even got ready there on my wedding day with all of my bridesmaids and it was just perfect....not to mention the amazing pictures we took outside in the gorgeous garden!

The location CAN NOT BE BEAT! I have been to Sorrento numerous times and this is by far the best location. Only two blocks from the main square but in this residential area where you don't hear any of the town noise! You can walk to literally everything from the train station to the bus stops to the port to the marina grande. There are some delicious and inexpensive restaurants nearby and The Corner Shop down the street which has the best limoncello in town and the cutest little owner who will give you free tastes!

The villa was immaculate, bright, and airy. It was July so we used the AC and even though the villa is big, it kept it extremely cool. The washer and dryer in the back room were a pleasant surprise so it was nice to be able to do our laundry as well. Additionally, there are four rooms within the villa and each room has its own bathroom (they are all upstairs). Then in the downstairs, there is another bathroom as well which people would use during the day so that they didn't have to go through other people's rooms. Also, there is another room that is stand alone which is out by the garden. It is a very adorable room with it's own bathroom too in case someone wanted something more private. The villa had wifi which worked perfectly as well.

There are not enough good things I can say about this place. It is seriously a perfect secret hidden gem and we truly felt like we had a home in Sorrento. We also saved alot of money as we used the kitchen alot for cooking and drinking. I would recommend this place as a B&B to people who are traveling, to families traveling together, to friends to people with children (as the yard is all enclosed and can be a nice place for kids to run around). I will definately return!!!

The most amazing villa in Sorrento. It is definitely a home away from home.
Central location and easy access to everything.
Anastasia and her mother are the most welcoming and helpful hosts anyone could wish to meet. We arrived with a welcome of Limoncella and pastries.
We had a small Asian wedding ceremony and the whole event was amazing. The kitchen is well equipped and if you find you don’t have anything, Anastasia is always willing to help.
We’ve been to Sorrento a number of times, but it was a first for the family.....they had such a good time that they are already planning a return trip next year
Best holiday ever and the most welcoming people.

Thanks Anastasia!

Everything about Villa la Contessina exceeded our expectations. The location is superb. It is a short stroll to Piazza Tasso, shopping and everything else Sorrento has to offer. Two of the owners, Anastasia and her Mother welcomed us with 3 varities of limoncello and fresh local pastries. We instantly felt like part of the family. Anastasia was so helpful answering all of our questions and even arranged a tour of the Amalfi coast for our group of six.

The pictures do not do it justice, it is absolutely beautiful. All 4 bedrooms are almost exactly the same (bed, size, closet TV etc) except that 2 of them have balconies and one has a bathtub. But I would have been comfortable in any one of them. We enjoyed having our own kitchen and were able to save money by cooking for ourselves. The perfect weather allowed us to eat outside and enjoy the serenity of the large private courtyard/garden. The living and dining room accommodated our group with room to spare.

If you read "Rick Steves" travel guides -- his walking tour of Sorrento is in the same neighborhood a Villa La Contessina.

This Villa really is as good as the reviews indicate! My husband and I spent a week there with five friends and found it delightful. It is prettily decorated with tile floors, vivid colors, comfortable furniture and a well stocked kitchen. The terraces and surrounding gardens are great for relaxing. Anastassia is lovely and helpful and always available if needed. While there is no ocean view from the Villa, a few steps from the Villa gardens, through one locked gate and one locked garden door, one enters a lovely public garden with fabulous views up and down the coast. (Anastassia will provide the keys.). This Villa is wonderful, and Sorrento is a perfect base from which to explore the Amalfi coast.
The Villa also provides free internet connection!

We spent three nights at La Contessina recently. The room was lovely with balcony and en suite and breakfast was provided by a local cafe about 2 minutes walk away (wonderful chocolate croissants and coffee!)The location is ideal for exploring Sorrento, being about 3 minutes walk from the main square, and for trips to Capri and the Amalfi Coast.

Anastasia was really charming and very helpful, giving us suggestions for trips or recommendations on where to eat - and no matter what she says her English is superb and much better than our Italian!

I would definitely recommend this b&b (and it can also be rented out as a whole 4 bed villa) for anyone looking for good accommodation at a great price!

Everything about it exceeded our expectations. The pictures don't do it justice. It's absolutely beautiful. Just beware of the church bells ringing at 7:00am (It is VERY close)

My wife and I were married in the Chiostro just around the corner, and stayed here with most of the wedding party. The place is huge! four bedrooms in the main house and one in the detached bungalo. All with their own bathrooms (big plus!) . It was the perfect place for all our friends and family to meet up and relax and hang out before the big show. It definitely eased some the wedding days nerves for everyone.
Anastasia is wonderful. Anything you may need she can help you with. We can't wait for the opportunity to go back and stay there again.
Thanks for everything! :)
