“An absolute gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 October 2010

We had the pleasure of staying at Relais Villa Angiolina for several days in late June. Liana and her family are warm, welcoming and extraordinarily helpful and the rooms are nicely appointed with access to charming courtyards. We stayed in a number of lovely hotels throughout Italy and this was hands-down our absolute favorite. Run, don't walk, to this fabulous little gem!

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights on a weekend break, having read great reviews. We could not have chosen a better place to stay! A beautiful, peaceful retreat away from the hectic bustle of Sorrento, yet within easy walk of the centre. The staff were very friendly, smily and helpful, and made every effort to make our stay comfortable.
We would certainly stay here again, and will definitely recommend Villa Angiolina to anybody! :-)

We read Tripadvisor reviews -" interior location, too far from town" etc,. we reluctantly made reservation here just because nothing else was available on the dates that we were going to be in the area. So after a lousy stay at Marriott in Napoli, a nice cozy stay in Ravello, we were not sure what we will get here. We were just taken aback by our find. This place is "superb, a gem, very friendly staff, beautiful appointed bath, spacious tastefully decorated rooms, absolutely delicious breakfast"...I can just go on. We were thankful that we didn't cancel our reservation and kind of "forced" to stay here and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

Yes it is in interior and rooms do no have sea view but the beautiful garden, long walkway covered by Kivi wine, lemon trees, the stone patio surrounded by flowers beds (tended by "dad") AND the delicious breakfast pastries (baked by "mom") AND the helpful, resourceful, English speaking receptionist (Lianna the daughter) made up for all the sea view that we missed.

We loved our 30 minutes walk to town from the hotel. The walks provided us an opportunity to enjoy much of the atmosphere that the town had to offer. The restaurants suggested by Lianna were good, nothing outstanding, but food was good. I would say, better to find something on your own... there are plenty of choices in town.

Lianna was so sweet to lend me her laptop with free WI FI.

Highly recommend to stay at this place.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay in the Villa Angiolina and we can recommend it to anyone who wants a quality stay in a beautiful villa with friendly and helpful staff.Actually the staff are the family who own this villa and who care for it and their guests with warm hospitality .
We stayed here for 14 nights and were made feel like part of the family. Our bedroom was spacious and modern and we had a little terrace where we sat out to enjoy a glass of wine every evening. The villa has been completely renovated with first class fittings - plasma TV , huge shower, comfortable bed and safe and mini bar/ fridge. Free Wifi is available. There are lovely gardens tended lovingly by the owner of the villa and his wife bakes delicious treats for breakfast. Their chaming daughter Leana looks after reception and speaks fluent English
Most guests stayed for 3 or 4 days so we were the exception but if I were fortunate enough to be in Sorrento again I would stay in Villa Angiolina Incidentally , when we were in Sorrento some years ago we stayed in The Ambasciotori and loved it but the warmth and tranquillity of Villa Angiolina would ensure our return!
It is just a 5 minute walk to the centre of Sorrento and about 10 minutes to the train/bus terminal and 15 minutes to the ferry port. Leana was very helpful with timetables and suggestions for things to do.

The hotel is run by the family owners who are helpful and accessible for giving advice about local tourist spots etc. The hotel itself however is slightly interior and does not have any bay view. Being a small hotel, locating it could be difficult. It is NOT within walking distance from the railway station especially with luggage. It would be better to insist on the hotel arranging pick-up at least while reaching the hotel for the first time.

We spent 5 nights at Villa Angiolina. The owners were charming and referred us to fabulous restaurants. Our bedroom on the top floor of the totally renovated farmhouse was luxurious, immaculate and had a nice view of the flower-filled garden and orange trees. We cannot think of a better place to stay in Sorrento. M.+E., New York City

We stayed at the new Angiolina Apartments for 3 nights and we were extremely happy with our choice of stay. First, Liana and her brother were at the train station to warmly receive us and brought us to the apartment via their car and gave us as much information as we needed and requested on what to do/eat and get about Sorrento and the towns the Amalfi Coast.

The apartment we stayed in was the Trilocale (3 bedroom). The apartment was newly designed and comes wonderfully furnished with a fully equipped open-concept kitchen and amazingly clean. The bedrooms were very spacious with and each came with a flat screen television. The beautiful lighting, pictures and decorations on the wall added a finishing touch to the apartment. Another added feature that we really liked were the automatic shutter windows that completely blocked out the early summer morning light that allowed us to rest till fully refreshed after an exhaustive day of exploring the Amalfi towns.

We had a huge balcony that was just nice to sit out in the evenings to watch the sunset and the doublepaned balcony windows and glass doors were good enough to insulate the outside noise although must say that it got a little noisy when the doors were left open as the apartment is situated on a busy road. (but this is a small town, how busy can the roads get) so it wasn't that bad after all.

Great location as it's only within 5 minutes walk to the center town, Piazza Tasso and another 5 minutes to the train/bus station. All in all, we were glad we chose to stay at Angiolina Apartments and would be glad to recommend this place to anyone visiting Sorrento.

Thanks Liana for your hospitality and great assistance!
