We went walking our first evening in Sorrento and saw this beautiful hotel. We went in and they had a vacancy for the following night, we were so lucky! This hotel is spacious, implacably clean, and last but not least gorgeous! Stay here! It was also very nice that they had a huge free breakfast.

This hotel is only 3 years old with all modern utilities and spacious rooms. The staff are very welcoming, speak English and make you feel at home. I stayed in a room with my sister with an adjoining room for my brother and sister-in-law that had a private entrance for all of us, very accommodating. When we arrived were offered complimentary sparkling wine on the rooftop bar overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. We meet the owner, Enzo, at their restaurant, "Ristorante O'Parrecchiano la Favortia", A very charming, jolly man who told us all about Sorrento and designing the hotel with his wife that took 3 years to build. This hotel is affordable and close to all the shops, I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: If you like to use a washcloth,.

Everything you hope for in a luxury hotel is here, we had a 3 night stay at La Favorita with friends and we could of very happily stayed there for 2 weeks! We were made to feel welcome by all the staff and the reception and gardens has a great wow factor, the room was perfect and very clean. The gardens are immaculate, the breakfast is wonderful, the bed was super comfortable. Although the hotel is very central it was perfectly quiet due to the soundproof shutter. Lovely evening walks straight from hotel to many restaurant choices. Highly recommended, and don't forget to have drinks or a snack at the rooftop bar - brilliant view and great service.

Room Tip: We had a sea view room with balcony and it was a great size and ideal.

We stayed at this hotel for around five nights during May Bank holiday 2012. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience of staying here.

We had a flight from London to Naples. From Naples, we took the bus to Sorrento just outside the airport. The last stop is Sorrento. The walk from Sorrento Bus station to the hotel is a 10min walk. The luggage carrying/dragging can be a bit exhausting but not unmanageable. The taxi takes 15 euros. We preferred walking and were fine.

The staff here are super friendly and give personalized care and attention. We have stayed in many five star hotels/resorts before too but this hotel is very special because of the personalized attention one gets. Even the breakfast is very good with a personalized touch.

The hotel has a very antique Italian look which always drags most of the tourist from outside. We saw many tourist who could not go without taking pictures of the hotel from outside and admiring it.

The best part is the hanging roof garden with lemon, orange and rose trees and is very green, relaxing and beautifully decorated with antique mini sculptures.

The bed was very comfy and the blue and white paintings and the decor is very good. We had a very good roof hanging garden view and were on first floor. The top floors will have sea view and garden views too. There are other rooms which face the streets and you can see the tourists walking and maybe some garden and sea.

The roof top swimming pool, bar area with sun and the views included the sea, Dom, various churches and mount Vesuvius is just next level. It was indeed very relaxing.

The best to explore Sorrento is by walking in the shops and having food and talking to the locals in shops. Their language and use of hands gestures while speaking is very beautiful.

The hotel is close to the street markets. If you come out of the hotel and turn left there are many street markets with beautiful yellow ceramic souvenirs, lemon alcohol etc. Here we saw a shop 'rent a car' and met a lady Andrea who was very kind and helpful to explain all the details about nearby villages. We booked a car through her and went to Positano, Amafi coast etc. The views and the drive is awesome.

Towards the right side of the hotel is the view of the sea, port, and you can either take a lift to go down to the bay area or just take the steps/walk down there. The lift takes you to the port area where you have water boats to Capri. After you reach Capri, book a yellow scooter which is a perfect way to visit Capri. The steps take you to a village area. We had food in a fishing village restra called Emilia. The food is simple and delicious. Out of all the restra we tried, we enjoyed Emilia. It is right on the sea and dinner during sun set is very very romantic. You can find many American tourists here too. The prices are very reasonable too and not like the other touristic places.

Overall the entire trip was a memorable one. The hotel is highly recommended. They also have a musical night too with drinks. A beautiful new boutique hotel.

Room Tip: Garden facing, or top level sea facing

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon at the start of April for 11 nights. The service was fantastic, the room was immaculately clean, the staff were amazingly warm and welcoming, breakfast was lovely and we were made to feel very at home here.

Our stay coincided with Easter weekend and whilst the hotel seemed to get quite busy over that weekend it was pretty quiet the rest of the time as our stay was at the start of the holiday season. Our room was cleaned thoroughly each day with replacement towels every day even though we would have been happy with reusing the towels we already had - I guess as the hotel was quiet the cleaning staff maybe didn't have as much to do as they would in high season! Almost every evening upon returning to our room the sheets had been turned down. The hotel operates an electric key card system which we assumed must let reception or cleaning staff know whether guests were in or out as we didn't once have maids trying to get into the room to clean when we were in the room.

On Easter Sunday we returned from a very wet trip to Pompeii to find a large Easter egg left in our room courtesy of the hotel. This was a lovely touch and certainly cheered up two soggy tourists! Most nights we finished off our evening with a drink in the bar in the hotel. The staff here were lovely and brilliant at making cocktails!! Attanasio created a cocktail just for us 'Cooper Cocktail' which was lovely (and quite strong!) and Carmine was brilliant at adding little extra touches to cocktails to make them more personal.

Overall the staff made us feel very welcome and really went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay and felt very well looked after. The hotel only offered B&B stay rather than DB&B however, there is a restaurant on site (where breakfast is served) which serves evening meals. I was pleased that we were only B&B as there are so many beautiful restaurants to explore in Sorrento, it would be a shame to feel tied to eating in only one restaurant for your stay.

If I had one criticism it would be that the air conditioning needed to be turned on. Having read other reviews I understand that the air con isn't turned on until later in the season when the weather gets a little warmer. Although it wasn't too hot during our stay, the hotel still got a bit warm at night time and we had to sleep with the patio door open. This didn't really cause us any problems though as it was fairly quiet when we were there.

The location of this hotel is fantastic, less than 5 minutes to the main square 'Piazza Tasso', but tucked away enough to be quiet. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others wishing to enjoy a relaxing time in Sorrento. I hope to return in the future - although it will definitely be when the weather is likely to be a bit warmer!

Room Tip: We paid for a room upgrade as it was our honeymoon and therefore had a view which looked out over Ve...

GRAND HOTEL LA FAVORITA represents excatly what you've dreamt of a vacation in Sorrento. The hotel has the best location in town and is absolutely immaculate. You feel as if it had opened the day before. The service is very good and friendly, the beds are super comfy and you cannot beat the relaxing atmosphere and views from the roof top pool. We were reccommended to try the restaurant that they have in town, also called La Favorita, which was an experience on itw own, a beautiful Italian garden with the best seafood pasta that I have tried. Overall, a dream of a vacation.

We just finished a 3 night stay at La Favorita. The value for money is exceptional. The location is superb, the rooms are spacious and amenities are excellent. Most importantly, service is very friendly. The only drawback is that rooms are a bit sparse. Looking forward to going back.
