We stayed here for 4 nights and thought the location was fine, right in the center of the city. The price was good for what you get. The only problems were the noise at night from the bar downstairs blasting music until very late. Also, I mainly choose the room because it had a small balcony and we ended up with a room without a balcony and very little natural light. They should have specified which room we would be in.

don valerio is 2 apartments owned by and in the same building as casa astarita.we booked the apartment with the roof terrace. pictures on the website are spot on. it comprised of 2 very big bedrooms. one with a king size double one with 2 single beds. each room had sat t.v in them.and a huge amount of wardrobe/draw space. the main room only had aircon. a small kitchen with a couple of rings to make hot drinks and a fridge led off the main bedroom. no real cooking facilities but heck you are on holiday. the 2 bedrooms were connected by large full length patio doors that opened up onto the great roof terrace. the terrace was totally private.had views of the sorrrento hills and got the sun all day. all of this for the bargin price of 65 euros a night for 2 people.the apartment was clean and had everything you needed with cleaning every 3 days if you wanted it.

from the begining alfonso was very helpful with arranging our booking even up to the very last minute when we didnt know if our flight was cancelled due to the ash cloud. he gave us his phone number and when we arrived i called him. he arrived within 5 minutes. to show us around. best of all he required no deposit and we paid in full in cash when we arrived.

now the negative.well not really a negative. but due to its location on corso italia right next to the english inn. on a couple of nights the music from this bar was very loud. i travel with ear plugs and still at the weekend the noise was pretty bad. it didnt stop us from getting to sleep but it took a while longer than normal.tbh im surprised the bar is allowed to play such music in the open air. i felt sorry for the italian families that lived in the apartment block having to to put up with such noise.

when i was looking for somewhere to stay in sorrento i pretty much came across this b&b by accident only realising after a while it was owned by the casa astarita family.it looked great on the website and i thought at these prices it must be to good to be true. well it wasnt. compair paying 90 euro a night in the casa astarita to paying 65 euro a night for a large 2 bedroomed apartment with a gorgeous roof terrace to sunnbath on and well you dont even need to ask yourself which one do i stay in. its great value and a great apartment so get in there while you can and before alfonso realises what a gem he has and puts the prices up!! hopefully we will be back.
