This place was a struggle for my husband and I to find as we walked along the main street in Sorrento. It is down two alleys found behind a church, and once we finally found the place, we were so glad that we did.
We sat down to complimentary champagne as we waited for a table. The restaurant is small but quaint. The owner walks around the restaurant and presents the entertainment (which we were not solicited to pay). First a wonderful violinist played, and then it was staff from the restaurant, as well as use being provided with tambourines and encouraged to participate if we wanted to.
Given the reasonable prices I was not expecting too much from the food. My husband ordered lasagna. It was prepared in an individual baking dish. The sauce was fantastic, not too much cheese and the meat was great! We had ordered lasagna on two other occassions and this one was definitely the best.
I ordered the shrimp risotto. The cream sauce was not too heavy and the fresh lemon zest was not only wonderfully fragrant, it cut through the cream so nicely. The shrimp were fresh and well cooked.
We also stayed for dessert but were so full we could not finish the chocolate mousse or tiramisu. I would definitely highly recommend this restaurant for couples, families, or friends. It is a true gem in Sorrento!
