We chose Il Giglio Bianco as a place to stay while in Sorrento when we saw its website and read the very positive reviews from other travellers on Trip Advisor. When we got there, we found everything we had expected - friendly, attentive service, pretty bedroom and balcony, fresh linen when we wanted and even a small fridge - a welcome asset during the high July temperatures.
The breakfasts were delicious but very sweet - croissants, tiny sponge cakes and freshly baked tarts and cakes provided by Mario's wife, Maria, and his mother. Some yoghurt and fruit was available also.
Mario was always on hand to provide juices and freshly brewed coffee. He also had very useful advice to offer regarding public transport.e.g. best way to travel to and from Rome etc.
During our 8 day stay there, we met a variety of combinations of guests - a Danish family, a Northern European woman travelling solo and a group of Americans ' doing Europe'. For some, the availability of WiFi was a real attraction. For all, Il Giglio Bianco was a safe and peaceful haven from which to enjoy the pleasures of Sorrento.

We relished the climb back in the evenings and then the stairs up to our room, imagining the reduced waistbands that would be our reward - but oh those croissants!!

I would recommend Il Giglio Bianco as a quiet, safe and friendly base for a short holiday in Sorrento or as a pretty stop over while touring the Amalfi Coast.

We have fond memories of Il Giglio and would be happy to include it in our itinerary in the future.

This B&B is perfect for couples and even families seeking a friedly location during their holiday. The rooms are clean, light and have a pleasant atmosphere; they are equipped with everything that could be needed on a holiday and though they aren't very spacious, there is nothing missing from them.
The breakfast is delicious and though the offer is not very big, it's not boring at all and you will surely not remain hungry. The service is excellent, and the hosts help you with everything, should you have questions about the places to visit, the methods of transportation or just the best beaches, bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood.
Although the hotel is about 20 minutes from the beach on foot, it is quite a pleasant walk and the city centre (including the train station) with all the shops and restaurants is only about 10 minutes away, so everything you should possibly need is nearby.

First off, Mario was very helpful in picking us up at the train station, even though it wasn't too far. We walked to the station our day of departure and it only too 15 mins with luggage.

Mario helped my wife by carrying her luggage up the stairs to the 3rd floor (4th floor in North America)

The room was clean, newly renovated, and had all the amenities you needed. A nice balcony with chairs to soak up the sun and have some wine with prosciutto and melon. A nice bar fridge to keep your drinks and snacks cold.

Bed was decent, no complaints. Breakfast was very nice with fresh espresso and hot milk, also with many assorted jams, croissants, cereals, ect. Mario was always up to attend to anything you needed at breakfast.

Only 15 mins down to the beach, then about 20-25 up (Sorrento is built on a cliff, so down is much quicker) We never actually timed it because we were always wandering the town. The restaurants and service there seemed impeccable, and the prices were very nice too. We didn't pay more than 50 Euros for food, and drink. While a restaurant in Canada of that caliber you would pay at least 75 Euros.

Overall this stay here made this stop in our 7 part Europe trip our favourite. We will be back again.

This was a great spot for anyone looking for modern/renovated and quiet stay in a perfect location, close to all that Amalfi coast has to offer.

The only negative would be that one of the rooms (the one we got) did not have a balcony as mentioned with all rooms on the website, but the tradeoff is this room is quieter, not facing the narrow little street which has the occasional scooter or car whip down it. The Wifi strength in this room was also not amazing, and fruit would be a nice addition with the breakfast, but for the price you cannot beat Il Giglio Bianco.

The brothers who run this B&B were fantastic! Offered to pick us up from the train station, had a great breakfast every morning, and were kind and helpful!!! Breakfast was pastries/breads, fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice. The rooms were all newly redone, so everything was new, worked well, everything was very clean and comfortable. Our room had a great balcony with some privacy with table and chairs, great for some wine in the evening (although we enjoyed chatting with our neighboring guests over some wine in the evening). This B&B is about a 7 min walk up and away from the crowded main street in Sorrento, which was a welcome relief in the middle of summer! It's a great spot to explore the whole region-Pompeii/Herculaneum, Amalfi Coast, Capri, etc. I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone staying in Sorrento! Great experience!
