“Incredible Hotel in Sorrento”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

We have stayed at the Sorrento Palace various times and we love it. Fantastic pool and delicious meals in the restaurant at night. They also have a great poolside cafe for afternoon snacks and gelatos. Excellent resort especially if you're traveling with kids. When our daughter was younger, she participated in the Kids Club activities everyday and she loved it. Also worth mentioning, is the morning buffet breakfast. It has everything you can possibly desire, including an omelette and crepe station. The rooms are spacious and clean, and very affordable, compared to other resorts we have stayed at in Europe. The views are also stunning from the pool area and from the room balconies, but you must pay extra for the city facing rooms. Although, in my opinion, well worth the extra euros!

It's not located near the center of town, but we always have a car, and we drive to the center and park in one of the garages. You could also take a quick cab into town or if you prefer to walk, it's about a 15-20 minute walk.

The only thing missing from this resort is a spa, but not even that will keep me away!

Room Tip: Definitely worth it to pay extra for the city facing rooms, views are amazing! Also worth it to pre...

We stayed 3 nights at the Hilton and at first were disappointed at not having a view over the Bay of Naples, however we soon realized that the large room and the fact that we were away from the hotel for most of the time, the view did not matter. The views from the Sorrento Lounge or the Pagoda bar were breathtaking and what better way of relaxing than sipping a beer or cocktail or enjoying a nice snack or meal while looking across to Versuvius and Naples while checking your emails.
The staff were very polite and helpful and most of the waiters liked to get to know you and to call you by name.
Although it is up hill and about a 15 minute walk from the centre of town, the walk was not hard.
The only real complaint we had was that for a top rated hotel there was no free WiFi in the rooms. We spent 7 weeks traveling through Europe staying at 3 & 4 star hotels and the Hilton was the only one that did not have free WiFi in the room. Maybe that was to encourage people to spend more time in the lounges or bars [also the lobby] where it was free.
But this aside, we had a great time at the Hilton and I would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Bay view room for preference.

The hotel Is beautiful with lots of great facilities. It's around a 10-15 minute walk to town which can be quite annoying at times. The staff are lovely and the rooms are very clean. The flaws are that you cannot get a good night sleep in this hotel. You can hear your neighbours coughing and snoring, upstairs people walking, people opening and closing their doors it was terrible. Also the hotel restaurant is expensive and poor quality food.

Hilton Sorrento is a large hotel with plenty of variety of different room configurations. Connecting rooms are not a problem. The staff are very helpful, and in a country of average customer service, its obvious the American training has rubbed off on a friendly and professional team.
Facilities are fantastic. The bar in the lobby has a great range of wines and spirits, and the cocktail list is amazing.
The lobby restaurant has a magical view, however the menu was a bit average.
Every front facing room in the hotel has an amazing view and many have a great balcony looking over the city and the bay and Mt. Vesuvius.
Location is great, only a short stroll into town.
Sorrento is a great place to base yourself to explore the Amalfi Coast, with the first town Positano only a half hour drive from the hotel.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone how is after a great all round hotel in a fantastic location.

First , let me preface this by saying this review applies to the Hilton in Sorrento Italy. I have had wonderful experiences at other Hiltons. I was in Sorrento for business in May 2014. They offered me an upgrade to an Executive King Room for 89euros per night. I accepted. About 3 days before my departure I was notified that I probably should pay 117euros per night to confirm this room , because availability was getting tight. Thinking that they would be telling the truth, and being a Hilton member , I accepted. What they forgot to mention that anyone in these rooms traveling with children were allowed to be in the Executive Dining Area , Pool and roam throughout the Executive Floor. Needless to say this was not the environment I was looking for, for conducting business, and chose to meet my clients elsewere One other thing, If you are not familiar with Sorrento, this is an impossible hotel to find.

Room Tip: DON:T STAY THERE, They are not honorable

I would like to thank you for taking the time to communicate your experience at our property.

As we have already explained in our previous correspondence, I know that you shared with our Front Desk team member your dissatisfaction on the bad behaviour of the children in our Settimo Lounge. As we are primarily a leisure hotel, there is no children policy but of course all guests should behave respecting the others and we try to intervene whenever this was not the case.
It is with regret to learn your disappointment and surprise about the Executive room supplement as it was offered, negotiated and accepted by yourself during your correspondence with our reservation department .

Please rest reassured that it is our primary goal to recognize our most loyal guests as it shows also in the our guest satisfaction surveys where we score over 75% in delivery for HHonors benefit and over 80% in room upgrade, which is granted every time there is availability.
I am even sorrier that you did not try to contact me directly, so that I could have addressed your concerns in person and made your stay more enjoyable and pleasant

I would value the opportunity to restore your confidence in the Hilton Sorrento Palace and would appreciate if you could contact me directly may you wish to come back to Sorrento, so that we can provide you with exemplary service that keeps so many Guests returning to our hotel.

Yours sincerely,

My sister and i stayed at the Hilton Sorrento Palace in April, 2014 for 6 days. We were fortunate in being upgraded to the 7th floor to one of the largest suites I have ever experienced in any Hotel. The facilities and views were simply amazing.

Being able to lie in bed and push a button to open the curtains was a good novelty

The Executive Lounge was available all day, with a great choice of breakfast, afternoon tea and evening pre-dinner drinks and snacks

We ate at the Restaurant downstairs in the evening. The service and friendliness of the staff was outstanding

The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful, friendly and very courteous.

Room Tip: Views overlooking the sea are outstanding

We stayed here for 3 nights in May, and used it as a base for the coast and Pompeii etc. We have stayed in Sorrento before, and wanted a hotel which could either give us inter-connecting rooms or a family room, for my wife and 2 daughters. The hotel is more modern and less Italian than most other hotels in the area, so if it is traditional Italian you are wanting, this may not be the place for you.
We stayed in a family room which was a good size with a large double bed and 2 singles. The room was clean and had a great view over Sorrento.
The breakfasts were good, if a little busy. This hotel is also a conference centre and there was something on every day whilst we were there, however, other than breakfast being a bit busy this was not an issue.
The staff were excellent and made that point of noting your name and addressing you by it when you saw them. A nice touch.
The pool area was great with 4 interconnecting pool and plenty of beds, and again as the hotel is set back from the town centre on a hill you get a great view of the bay.
The hotel is about a 10 minute walk into the town centre, however, this does mean you escape the noise that there is in the centre.
My only gripe would be paying 17 Euros per day to park in an offsite car park, which although secure was not always attended. I thought this was a bit steep, given it wasn't even valet parking.
Overall though a great hotel and I would definatley go back if in the area again.
