The hotel is lovely, the staff are fantastic, they just couldn't do enough for us, especially "Antonio", the Maître de". The only trouble was, the view from our room !!!! It was of a brick wall ? When I complained, I was told there was nothing available at that time(even though the hotel was half empty). A "superior room", would be available the next day for us to view. We went and had a look, the next morning, only to see the top half of the wall, with a bush above it, showing were the hotel bus parked !!! Went down to reception and said there was no difference in rooms, only to be told, if we want anything decent, we had to pay them an extra 30 Euros a night !! We decided to stay in the dungeon. I had to put the heating on and leave the lights on, as it was so dark and cold in there.

Room Tip: Make sure, with your travel agent, before you visit the hotel, that you have a decent room booked

This was a package tour with Thomson for our family 2 adults and 3 children. Although a couples hotel our children 6,10,12 were made very welcome and felt completely at ease despite being the only children during our stay. The staff really went out there way to make them feel special. We had two rooms as max occupancy per room is 4, I emailed in advance to see if we could ensure rooms next door but no guarantee and ended up just one room apart. As we didn't pay the extra for a sea view rooms 438 + 442 were facing the brick wall at the front of the hotel. I didn't mind this as we did not spend any downtime in the room. The dress code men long trousers is for the evening only, shorts OK in the day for breakfast etc. The food was interesting and varied, and our children where able to also order 'off menu' also pizza/ pasta/ chips. I felt the welcome meeting by Thompson 11:00 Sat + Tues too late if wanting to start your day sightseeing and we missed both, infact I had no interaction with our rep during our stay at all. Pompei/ Ercolano/ Versuvius are easily and cheaply done yourself by taking the train from Sorrento. Return tickets 2.20 euros. The hotel will provide a packed lunch for 8.50 euros if you let them know evening before. The courtesy bus operates from the front door of the hotel to Sorrento town but there is no service between 12;15 and 16:15 which left us facing a steep uphill walk or a 20 euro taxi fare back every day. I think the hotel or Thomson really need to address this. I thought the drinks were expensive resulting in a bar bill over 400 euros on checkout, even though we were not excessive and mainly soft drinks and water. The nearest shop is in Sorrento so there is no alternative nearby. The entertainment was on 3 evenings and involved a keyboard/ singer on 2 nights and a strolling duo on 1 night. But this hotel is all about the view and most after dinner activity saw guests inc us having a drink in the bar with ipad/ kindle etc. A very relaxing ambience.
The location of the hotel is accurately described on the Thomson website regarding airport transfer 1-1.5 hrs and walk to town 25 mins. What I felt isn't made clear is the swimming pool. We had high temperatures for most of our week but the pool was deserted as it is freezing cold, the pictures used to entice you make much of the pool but it is really not possible to use it. From around 2pm it is in the shade so does not benefit from being heated by the sun either. This was a major disappointment when holidaying with young children and I felt I'd really let them down.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms overlooking pool will be in the shade in the afternoons.

This hotel is well kept, but pretty far from the city. Free bus transportation was available at 9:30 am into Sorrento, but in order to stay more than a couple of hours, the first bus back was at 4:15pm. The food was just ok, and the service lacking at times in the dining room. Wine was expensive and water was free at breakfast, but not dinner.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the water.

My sister and I stayed at this hotel with a group of 20.The room we had overlooked the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. The views were stunning as the hotel is located high on the hills looking down over Sorrento Everything was spotlessly clean and food was wonderful.Staff friendly and helpful,it was a pleasure to be there. After a day sightseeing ,to come back and sit up on the solarium with waiter service was so relaxing. The courtesy bus is a must and runs at good intervals each day but there is a walk down if you want.A good evening was spent at the musical theatre in Sorrento town.We didn't want to leave so maybe we will return some day.

Have just returned from this hotel, worth every Euro. The hotel is in the proceeds of a revamp, we were given one of the upgraded rooms, which was clean and fresh, with a wonderful view right across the Bay of Naples. The hotel is sited high up on the hills surrounding Sorrento, but a shuttle bus is available to take you into town and back. We found the food to be of a high standard, varied with something for everyone. The staff were very courteous and friendly, hats off to the two Matre de and very professional waiters. The bar area was well stocked and once again found the bar staff attentive and friendly, in fact I could not find anything to fault the whole complex. The Rooms were cleaned every day again the staff were polite and efficient. In summing up, a very pleasant stay in a very pleasant Hotel, the management are to be congratulated.

The shuttle bus was great back and for th the town. The food was fantastic and I would recommend this hotel. I will be returning.
