We have just returned from a weeks holiday B&B at this hotel. We booked directly with the hotel to ensure the room location of our choice, sea and Vesuvius view. The hotel upgraded us to a Prestige room from the Premier we booked, a lovely gesture. The room was immaculate, beautifully decorated and had spectacular views, free wifi and room safe. The balcony had full sun from approx 3:00pm. Do take your own hairdryer as the one provided in the bathroom was not great. I would also like to see tea / coffee facilities in the room. We suggested this to the hotel on the feedback form.

Breakfast was buffet style, huge choice and fabulous views over Bay of Naples to Vesuvius. Staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. Only complaint is they do not provide tea pots at breakfast and the hot water urns are not hot enough to make tea. Fresh hot water was provided on request. When you purchase tea in the afternoon, it is served in a pot and is perfectly fine.

We visited just out of season so the beach area was not open and the poolside snack bar was closed. However waiter service by the pool ensured drinks were available and it opened for lunch towards the end of the week. Plenty of indoor and outside seating areas in both full sun and shade.

It is a 10 minute walk to the main square and we liked the location away from the centre of Sorrento, however there is a busy road outside the hotel so I would advise people to avoid booking a room facing the road. We could not hear the road from our sea view room.

I would recommend this hotel and we are likely to return.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are very quiet with stunning views.

The hotel has spectacular views and the service is the BEST you will find. The folks at the front desk sent us to two wonderful restaurants and we loved our stay even though it poured rain for two of the three days we were there. Met a wonderful mother and daughter from the UK who we had several pleasant chats and night caps with.....wonderful place to stay and relax.

Staff were helpful, good place to stay and walk around Sorrento, We enjoyed free internet. Rooms were clean. The restaurant has awesome views. Our room had partial sea view (and view of vesuvius).

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Ambasciatori. My daughter and I felt we were going home. The welcome is always outstanding and staff exceed any expectations. The hotel has had a bit of a brush up over winter and is looking amazing. More than anything the hotel has quality, style and elegance and I am returning again in July and most likely in September .

Room Tip: Book directly with the hotel - speak with Imma or Massimo they will help you with the best room to suit you!

We spent an enjoyable week in Sorrento despite 7 days of rain. Yes, it rained on all 7 and thunderstorms on 3 ! Apparently it is still the same. Anyway this is no fault of the hotel although it allows me to confirm definitely that the roof does not leak! Yes we liked it. Courteous staff, clean, nice a la carte dinners (not those dreadful buffet things) and a beautiful garden, pool, and scenery. Irritating that they charged about 3 euros a day for a room safe box. This is usually free. But on the whole very good services.

Why oh why can't a hotel like this in Italy provide good bar coffee ? I'm not talking about the horrible brown liquid called coffee which is served at breakfast in almost all 4 star hotels and below worldwide. No, I mean the nice bar coffee that goes down so well after a good meal when you would like to relax and chat at lunch or evening. I did tell them. They waved their hands, looked sad, and promised it would be put right. All very Italian. I hope they do fix the coffee though. I might go back.

As for the weather .......................... be warned!

Room Tip: Get a seaview or garden room. Not one above the busy road at the front.
