The room was exceptional with a breathtaking view. The service was exceptional with professional employees in every capacity. We were greeted at breakfast by Matteo the maitre'd and the food and service was great. The location allowed us quick access to the town of Sorrento and the shopping was the best. We took a tour bus to Pompeii and had a positive experience.

We endorse the Bristol as a great choice for a wonderful vacation.

We stayed here for 1 week from 18-25 April in Villa Bianca. We had a fantastic time and would highly reccommend this hotel. It is in an ideal location giving spectacular views yet only a short walk from the centre. The view from the terrace is absoulutely stunning and is something that will stay with me forever. This hotel is voted as 21st best in Italy as voted for by trip advisor reviewers. I work in the hotel which is voted as UK number 1 for 2010 and 2011 by trip advisor so I am well aware of the service that needs to be
delivered in order to receive this recognition. Wow. They didn't disappoint in any way. It was lovely for me to actually be on the receiving end of fantastic service and staff who were happy to help as I get very frustrated by poor service and people who don't care. The reception team were wonderful and happy to advise on restaurants and trips. They arranged for a car and driver to take us out for the day where we visted Pompei, Ravello, Amalphi and then drove back down by the coast road. Fantastic and a great way to view the stunning coast line. Driver stops wherever you want so you really benefit from all aspects.
Restaurant - breakfast was lovely with eggs cooked how you like them and of course the fabulous view over the bay every morning. We ate in the restaurant on 2 nights and really enjoyed it. Service again was excellent and we were made to feel very special by all the staff.
Villa Bianca - we were really pleased we decided to choose a villa rather than being in the hotel. The villas are set in gardens above the hotel and you feel like you are away from everything. Although not for the faint hearted as they are a quite a steep walk with steps, it is well worth the lovely walk. Our villa had a lovely garden with jacuzzi, sunbeds, table and chairs and and (again!) stunning views. There was also facilities to cook outside if you wished. The villa was very clean and we felt so at home. My only negative comment would be that the shower needs updating. Very small shower tray with curtain all the way round. There was barely room to turn round in the shower without getting wrapped in the curtain. However, I loved everything else so much I was happy to ignore this. Coffee and tea facilities would also have been nice in the room - but this is minor.
All in all, we had a fantastic stay and would go back tomorrow. Feeling homesick for Hotel Bristol and Sorrento! Thank you

We always return to the Bristol Hotel in Sorrento -- this was our 5th visit. The view, the rooms and the staff are magnificent ! Some rooms have just been renovated and almost all are "vista Mare" a sea view with a balcony! Our newly renovated room had a spa tub on the balcony !!! The view was incredible. The staff is very friendly and helpful and Matteo from the Dining room is wonderful - as is the food ! We went with 2 other couples and it was a great visit to Sorrento. The location is excellent -- you can easily walk into town from the hotel and enjoy the best view from your beautifully furnished room and balcony. We will return again !

Room Tip: always ask for a room vista mare

Just returned from a week in Sorrento staying at the Hotel Bristol, travelling with Thomson.

The hotel is absolutely brilliant - we could not fault it at all. This was our first visit to Italy and we stayed here following a recommendation from my daughter.

I was gobsmaked when I walked into the room - absolutely stunning postcard views of the bay and Sorrento. You are really high up, looking down at the bay and the harbour, with Cruise liners steaming in and out. The room was lovely, really comfortable. I suppose only gripe was that the fridge didn't work, but we bought our water etc at the shop down the road for a fraction of the price, so would not have used it anyway.

The staff are amazing - all of them are immaculate, well drilled and attentive. The restaurant is stunning, both in the moring with the big doors open, and in the evening looking down at the harbour and town all lit up. The staff will allocate you a table with the best view when you walk into the restaurant - it's pot luck if you get a window seat, but if you do, it's stunning.

The food is lovely - but don't expect big portions. Also, I hope you like spinich as we got that 3 times and I cant stand it... Plenty of choice though - usually 6 starters, mains and desserts.

The pool bar and piano bar are also nice with lovely views. Bear in mind that if you travel before May, it is considered winter season, so some of the bars are not open, and you can't switch your evening meal to lunch etc. Also, we never saw anyone playing the piano, but not sure that was a drawback to be honest!!

Naples airport is a bit dossy - especially the arrivals. Water was dripping from the roof at the baggage reclaim and don't get me started on the check in procedure. Just hope you have lots of patience. They only seem to let one coachload into the airport at once, so you sit steaming on the coach. Once inside, we had 2 flights checking in, so around 400 people with just 3 check in desks. It took 2 and half hours to get from the front door to the gate, so just had time for a quick toilet visit and no time for refreshements etc. Naples generally looks a dump from the view from the motorway, in total contrast to Sorrento which is lovely.

All in all, having seen the other hotels from the drop offs etc, in my view there is nothing to touch the Hotel Bristol. Book it, you will not regret it!!

We spent a wonderful week in this lovely hotel, excellent service, luxourious accommodation, good food and amazing views. Our bedroom had a sea view over the Bay of Naples to Vesuvius as does the dining room. Lovely pool, gardens and terraces and all just on the edge of Sorrento so easy access to all amenities but without the traffic and noise.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view

The hotel was fantastic - they have excellent views, terraces and swimming pool and even a garden going up even higher for even better views.
The food ( we had half board through Thomson) was also fantastic and the staff couldn't do enough to help.
I wouldn't really recommend it for young children though - the staff were great with our 18month old grandson , but it isn't a hotel for children.

Everything about this hotel is outstanding; the food, the location, the view from the hotel room and the best of all was the service received from all staff. You are treated like a VIP from the moment you enter the hotel, unfortunately I can only remember one of the employee’s names who was Matteo, he was a true gentleman and nothing was too much trouble. As I said all employees were so helpful and polite including the gentlemen on reception, the drinks waiter and the cleaning lady was lovely just to mention a few. The hotel is kept so clean and tidy and the food is really nice, we went half board and would recommend it as there was plenty of choice even for a vegetarian.

The pool is great and there is a bar where you can have a drink while relaxing, it was too cold to go in when we were there (mid-end April) even though the weather was beautiful. We cannot praise this hotel enough and were disappointed at having to go home. Our trip was for the final week of our honeymoon and staying here made it that much more special. We are definitely planning to go back soon.

Room Tip: Capri take cablecar up as long & steep walk
