We stayed at the Hotel Bristol in Sorrento for the third time this year. It is a traditional and yet old time stylish hotel with THE most magnificent views over Sorrento. Really! We last stayed two years ago, myself, my 83 yeard old father and 10 year old son. When our little party of 3 arrived this year, we were met by the same gracious reception team, restaurant team and houskeepers. They remembered us, greeted us like long lost friends throughout our stay we were made to feel very special - such a treat. Nothing was too much trouble, in a very genuine way, which makes the difference. The food is very good, the pasta dishes especially, an extensive but not overpriced wine list, cleanliness is impeccable and there is generally some kind of tasteful entertainment in the Piano Lounge each evening. The pool is a very good size and everthing you could wish for, the roof terrace and terrace restaurant have a very serene feel to them and on a couple of days we ate lunch on the roof terrace and then dinner in the main restaurant.
Sorrento has a unique feel to it, smart and stylish but also in keeping with its culture and history and the Bristol reflects all that and more. We have been spoilt by the best and now wouldn't stay anywhere else.More
