We stayed at the Hotel Bristol in July 2010 for our honeymoon, for two weeks. We were lucky to stay in a Junior Suite, the view looking out on to the bay with Vesuvius in the distance - beautiful! We had never stayed in such a lovely hotel. As with many of the hotels in Sorrento, the decor is not contemporary, but all I can say is everywhere we went within the hotel, it was spotless.
The staff were very attentive and our dinner each night was delicious.
We hope to return with our baby son, born 9 months after our beautiful Hotel Bristol Honeymoon!

Stayed in th Bristol in July.Beautiful scenery, well maintained hotel plus spotlessly clean. We stayed half board.Food was okay and a great effort was made to have a good variety.Personally I have found other 4 star hotels I stayed in far better .We were staying on the first level. It did not have a balcony, just 2 large windows.Again beautiful view and room well maintained and clean.However.....if you want to get to sleep before 3.30am , forget it.The noise of traffic from the busy road below is unbelievable, especially the loud scooters! This was very annoying. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is very quiet at night and certainly relaxing for those who like it that way.We took the short walk to Sorrento each night and enjoyed the buzz and atmosphere there. The is situated in a good location and the walk is enjoyable. My final point..be very careful crossing the road outside the hotel, it is extremely dangerous.

Stayed in junior suite on roof of hotel - stupendous views of the Bay of Naples. Lots of Baroque marble and traditional style. Staff are charming and helpful and hotel is spotless with impeccable maid service.
The hotel is a little far out of the town centre, about a 10-15 minute walk ,so may not suit those with walking difficulties although there is a bus stop outside.
Small areas for improvement are :
1 Cafe restaurant and a la carte restaurant are quite expensive and the cafe lunch menu could be a little more varied.
2 Could lose the 1960s canned music on roof top terrace and it's a shame they don't make use of it at night. There is no bar and they are missing a trick by not creating a stylish cocktail bar with incredible night-time views

Room Tip: Top floor rooms and junior suites on level 9 have best views

Stayed with my lovely wife for a week in Bristol. We are fussy about our hotels and happy to say Bristol did not let us down. Great views from our own balacony over Sorrento....stunning! Staff were really nice and food (had breakie and lunch but didnt have dinner there) was excellent. Nice pool on top of hotel and only 10 mins walk down to Marina Grande if you wanted a dip in the ocean. 10/15mins walk into centre of Sorrento so you didn't need to book a taxi. Front desk really helpful with booking trips, restaurant recommendations etc. All in all a great hotel who looked after us.

Definitely a top choice for anyone thinking of staying in Sorrento - get a room on a the 6th floor if possible for the best views!

We stayed in the Bristol in July for 11 nights. The hotel is beautiful and we had a really relaxing holiday. The staff were brilliant and could not do enough for you.
We had no complaints with the food, in fact we enjoyed it very much and stayed and had our meals there all the time.
The rooftop pool is very nice, plenty of sunbeds and the jazzuci at one end is very relaxing.
We had a lovely room (715) with a beautiful view of the Bay of Naples. At night it was lovely to either sit there and enjoy the view or go to the entertainment lounge and enjoy the view from there.
The tranquility of the gardens behind the hotel and the fantastic views were unforgettable.
All in all we had a fantastic holiday due to the hotel and the staff who made it all possible.
We would definitely return and hopefully get a room on the same level as this year. A special word of thanks to Ercole on the reception desk, Matteo in the restaurant and Angelina who kept our room spotlessly clean and supplied plenty of towels etc.

The hotel was very nice and our room was big with great views from the balcony. Staff were very friendly. The food was nice but there was a lack of choice on the menu and it all became to be a bit repetitive by the end of the week. I would have liked to have seen more pasta dishes pon the menu. Not a hotel i would recommend if you plan to travel with young children, not a lot for them to do and everything is up high in the cliffs. Beware of crossing the road outside the hotel as well. The drivers out there are mad.

We stayed in the Bristol for our honeymoon, when we booked the holiday through Thomson/Citalia, they noted it was a honeymoon and after we checked into our room, we received a bottle of Cava in a bucket with two glasses which we sipped on the balcony overlooking the fabulous views over Sorrento and directly opposite Vesuvios.

Our room was on the 9th floor, out of 10 floors, i think the apartment you see on their website was above us. The staff were totally friendly and accomodating, we even had a minor troop of ants on our balcony, when reported to reception, the porter was at our door within 5 minutes, took care of the problem and cleaned up after himself.
The cleaners not only come in the morning, but will also pop back around 8 to re-do the beds if neccessary, not sure if this is the norm or due to the fact we were on our honeymoon!! haha
The hotel itself is decorated with fine arts, marble floors and has a quirky layout, the food was good, we stayed half board and they give you the choice each day to choose dinner or lunch, nice touch!
The only gripe I will note about the hotel is its distance from the town centre, yes its only 10 -15 minute walk, but I guess thats the price for the breathtaking views it offers over the whole bay. From our room we could see fireworks from over not only Sorrento, but over Naples also. Travel time from the Airport to hotel was about 45 mins. Overall, a fabulous hotel and would definately recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: Make sure you mention to your booking agent if its for a honeymoon.
